Ya back in the day every time a new game came out I had to upgrade my computer. I've heavily been into all types of games my entire life so it was quite expensive for a bit. Now they don't push the limits as much because they cross port to consoles. This has helped quite a bit. Now I only upgrade every 3-4 years, sometimes longer.

My daughter was much happier when I had my own computer. We would fight over computer time before the second was purchased. Funny thing is how I dragged my feet about buying the 1st computer.

I remember pluncking way too many quarters into one of these machines as a young teen.

I not only remember this..I played RB1 as well...on my 386DX

I would love to have this music in WOFF...much as I love the music we have...it's just so evocative

Well, I understand that touch of memorial nostalgia, Widow - but I find,
if ever a music fitted greatly with this sim, then it is Matt's score.
I guess I'll still find myself humming it in the old-age, when I' 88.

Played aswell the old Red Baron I on a 386 PC. Still remember the Quick combat mission screen, where you could easily fine tune the upcoming encounter. "You are leader of a flight of 1-2-...-6 aircraft, novice/veteran/ace in xyz formation, engaging a flight of 1-2-...-6 aircraft, novice/veteran/ace led by Werner Voss/Manfred v. Richthoven" and so on. The possible variables are unmatched till now on a WW1 sim, especially the possibility to integrate an enemy ace in a quick mission.

Flew RB1 and its vector graphics for hours and hours and loved it!

Omg, don't even start on time lost to the original Red Baron. The only class in college I ever missed was because I was in the middle of a mission and lost track of time. There was so much coolness there. Remember how Mick Mannock would challenge you to a duel and show up with three of his buddies? Awesome!

The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

That's right, very immersive, even with these old graphics-but it was state of the art at its time. And it had animated flight controls already, something RedBaron3D was missing for any reason... I was never addicted that much by RB3D as I was by the original DOS RedBaron. It was a cool time!
