Ok, so lots of people criticised "Prometheus" but that doesn't mean that the sequel wont be generating a lot of news. smile

Those other 2 movies he's got first sound pretty good too.
I really hope they don't screw up Blade Runner. There isn't so much pressure on an Alien universe movie. Blade Runner is precious to a LOT of people as it is.

Yeah, to me Blade Runner is one of those films that doesn't really need a sequel - it tells the story in a satisfying and complete way by itself, and it seems to me that a sequel has a better chance of hurting than helping.

The Martian story's filming location, Wadi Rum, does look about as much like Mars as I think you could get on Earth.

Prometheus was absolute garbage, and not just from a fan standpoint either. The plot-holes were gaping, the dialogue was cringe-worthy, and the characters were really poorly written. A lot of this blame I lay at the feet of that hack Damon Lindelof. However, at the end of the day, Ridley was perfectly fine with all of this.

I dread to see what he does to Blade Runner.

My brother and I both came out of Prometheus very underwhelmed, and frankly irritated by some of the hackneyed stuff in there, eg. when the two humans were taunting the little alien creature inside the ship. That was definitely a groan/cringeworthy moment, but not the only one.

I almost don't want to see the blade runner sequel...there's too good a chance that the writing will suck and that it will be just a visual treat.

I believe that Bladerunner 2 will be every bit as groundbreaking and yet true to the spirit of the original as Blues Brothers 2.

God help us.

Do they totally want to kill the alien franchise ? Prometheus has done enough for me not to see anything more of this genre. I will probably watch it, but it will most likely years down the line on Netflix or something like that.

As for blade runner. Unfortunately people are going to go in with high expectations. So its unfortunately going to have to be monumental for the average fan to say that it's good.

I agree above, I just don't see where the story could be enriched from producing a sequel.

It might even be as epic as Highlander 2. popcorn

We come from the planet Zeist! So long as the B.R. sequel has unicorns how can it go wrong?

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

I would love it if Gaff would make a re-appearance in the sequel. It would be nice to see Edward James Olmos again.

I suppose I see his point. Something new would be welcome.
