I pledged for this in Kickstarter an couldn't be more happy with the results (well, I could, if the were more than one race). I've been enjoying it since they opened the alpha and today I got an email announcing they are releasing September 5th!
Great game, looks good, plays good, no DRM as promised. Really wonderful stuff.

"What people like and what critics praise are rarely the same thing. 'Critic' is just another one of those unnecessary, overpaid, parasitic jobs that the human race has churned out so that clever slackers won't have to actually get a real job and possibly soil their hands." Sauron

I got it on the last steam sale pretty cheap, but have only tried it once and don't really know what I'm doing. I'm thinking it's a bit like SOSE, but on planets instead of the space between them. I could be wrong, I have almost no time in it.
Yeah... the game is missing a tutorial to explain the basics for sure. I also get lost in term of what there is to do with all the units and going to other planets / moons and stuff.

I have it on steam, played it a bit but it felt rather unpolished at the time (not a knock at it, it is unfinished after all). I still have Supreme Commander until PA is sorted out for release.
Scully: Victim died of multiple stab wounds. Mulder: *throws her a file* Ever heard of the knife alien?
I picked it up in the steam sale a while back. Have to admit I have no idea how to play or what I'm doing. It seems far more obtuse than Supreme Commander was.
I watched the 3 1/2 minute video "tutorial" and tried the Galactic War.
I like it! If you've played RTS's, then the gist should be easy enough to get. You gotta do a little digging to get more details though.
Had a moon flung at me once, after I had nuked the AI base. Cool stuff!
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

I just wish they would get the offline mode done. Right now you need a decent, stable internet connection, even if you are playing the single player Galactic War. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to put a bunch of time into a battle only to have the internet flake out and you get kicked. Right now it is gathering dust on my HDD until they get this sorted.
Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people. Carl Sagan
Yes, and a proper single player save system as well. I've only been able to put a couple games under my belt because I can't save and come back later.
