One of the benefits of working at an airport - you get to see cool aircraft every now & then. This Grumman G73-T Mallard came in yesterday and just left a few minutes ago.

That's sweet. Seriously sweet.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

I know, I'd live on the thing if I had one (an Albatross would be even better), just me & the cats. Travel from island to island, making my way around the South Pacific. I'd probably have to dope the cats before flying, though LOL.

And I know the turboprops are so much more reliable, not to mention that they produce the same power while saving 1300lb of weight, but radials would have just sounded so cool!

Didn't Jimmy Buffett own one of those? I'll have to get out his book, A Pirate Looks at Fifty.

Looking for a golden Monkey?

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

That was a smaller Goose. The Mallard would rate a Golden Baboon, I'd think.

Wow, just 59 total built.

Some beautiful interiors in some of these:

That was mere bronze. The actual gold monkey was huge and only seen once at the end of the pilot.
