I love huge space stations. What are the largest ships you can work up to? Anything along the lines of a big cruiser or are they smaller fighter or cargo type ships?

Do the SimHQ people get together in the game cooperatively, or is it still solo vs the unwashed public at this point?

Largest ship is the Anaconda...

It's several hundreds meters long and can be fitted to fit most roles (except superiority fighter, of course)...

Be it Inderdictor, Cargo, Destroyer, probably even mining roles- when it will be implemented...

As of now I've seen some of the guys online, I managed to fly together with a bunch of them but obviously the netcode needs some improving, I could see many but not all of the people there...

In a couple weeks there *SHOULD* be the Beta 2 phase which *SHOULD* bring immense improvement.
But don't quote me on that...

Let's just say I like to be carefully optimistic.

I've been grinding away toward a Lakon 9, and I'm nearly there. Hoping to do the rounds in all the available beta ships before the next wipe.

I lost my Cobra to a kamikaze Eagle and couldn't afford the insurance by just a few thousand credits. Back to the grind...

I've accepted the fact that anything I acquire and or accomplish via the BETA is subject to the void, as there is more than a good chance that everything will be leveled back to zero before the official release...

Well i'm flying around in a Lakon 6 at the moment,
when you get there, credit wise the curve goes up very fast. 70k round trip is easy.
mine round trip at the moment is a 3 stop route which nets me 101k.

Love the bigger jump range the most of the lakon 6.
Not sure if the next ship will be a lakon 9 or the ana.

I just got my Lakon 6 last night, it's pretty amazing the first time you open the galaxy map!

This weekend was my first opportunity to properly get into ED. Controls all tuned to my liking etc. and I'm loving it. It was a shame that after spending such a long time Hauling 16T of fish around I only had a Cobra for an hour or so before realising I had enough credit for the Lakon. The Cobra was awesome, but when the priority is making money, switching to the Lakon was a no-brainer.

So what happens when you purchase a new ship? Does it keep your previous one?

Nope, you trade the previous one in.
Obviously the value of the ship is detracted from the new ship's cost but that is not YET true for any weapon/extra hardware or the cargo.

Now cruising in the Lakon 9. A cool half million with each round trip.

Just for fun tricked her out with reactive armor, a full array of gimballed multi-cannons, and took her out hunting to the Eranin/Federal distress beacon. Ironic that I got my first kill in a Lakon 9!

Money is no longer an issue. Wish my real life was this simulator!

Made it to 4.2M last night before calling it quits. Obvious temptation to trade in the Lakon 6 for its big sister but I'm determined to hold out for 5M in order to have enough left over for insurance and 440 tonnes of cargo.

Should need about five more round trips, easily doable this evening.

just about to upgrade to hauler and had considered cobra as my next choice, just to have some teeth and get used to fighting,i think interdictions are going to get more attention in Beta 2 as the pirates are getting restless

can money be made in the cobra? whats the hold capacity compared to a type 6
