I have Janes USAF as 2 ISO files and am unable to install the program. After mounting using Daemon Tools I can double click on either the setup.exe or the Jauto.exe files but nothing happens. Can anyone help before I tear out what little hair I have remaining? Cheers
Thanks for your reply Baltika but I still cannot install. I have disabled UAC, disabled my antivirus and tried to run setup.exe as administrator and set compatibility to Win98 all to no avail.
Looks like I will just have to rely on my memories of this great game.
Do you have access to a Win 98, or, more likely, Win XP machine?
I installed USAF on my old Win XP desktop, then copied the whole install folder over to my Win 8 laptop (making sure to re-create the exact same install folder structure).
Then, using Tackleberry's patch, I got it running under Win 8 that way.
Just came across your 2014 post. I just installed Jane's USAF from disks and it took a long time before it came to the install page. So maybe give it awhile and see what happens. By the way, do you know of an active link for Tackleberry's USAF patch? While USAF is on my computer I cannot run it without his patch.

No need for information on where to download, Tackleberry's USAF patch. After a 3 day search on the Internet I located it. Jane's USAF runs great on Win 7 64bit professional and tweaking my GeForce graphics card has made that old game look beautiful. Now I just need to learn how to play it once more. If was one of my favorite Jane's titles and one that along with Jane's F15 that I spent a long time learning and playing. Please see my test USAF video on Youtube,

Hmmm I JUST did the USAF installs on a Win7/64 machine and they worked fine. Applied the Tackleberry patch and it worked. Haven't managed to tweak the graphics to a good place yet. I don't recall using any compatibility modes, but I think I came across some info that said to run the JAUTO.exe in Win2000 compatibility mode of all things.
EDIT: Just installed SLIKK's SUPERPRO 9.4 and applied the TACKLEBERRY patch to it. Seems to work and looks very nice.
Still having some trouble with flight models (switched to SuperPro default) where the aircraft fly like bricks especially when trying to land.
Also have to find a way to tweak cockpit graphics/aspect. Seems the Velocity Vector and horizon line is almost NEVER in the HUD. I have graphics set to widescreen, 1680x1050x32 so things might be stretched out of proportion.
Haven't devoted that much time...just wanted to see if it would WORK...

If you're interested, you might want to add Tackleberry High quality mod for USAF.
Here's a sample video of USAF running with it. Links to the mod are included in the description. It's the public folder of my Dropbox and the files aren't going anywhere, so help yourself!
Hope that helps.

I apologize for the intrusion, but there is some way to make the Super Pro 9.4 to work properly. Tackleberry The mod is very good, but it would somehow add it the Super Pro additions? The Super Pro problem is that have a very big FPS drop on modern systems like the original game. The game with the Tackleberry patch is very smooth.

Sad, Windows 10 won't let me use Windows 2000 compatibility settings:
