Hi,
Well, I just built a new computer this last weekend (first time building a computer in 6 years, so this was quite the upgrade!!)
A lot of my research was on what graphics card to get
Likewise !!!
I started considering the GTX770 then went over to thinking of the GTX 780 when I discovered it existed !
I had thought 770 4Gb then 780 4Gb, didnt know there was a 6Gb.
Internet thread on 2gb or 4gb says 1920 x 1080 cant make use of 4Gb. I have a very expensive 24inch £1200 monitor and its max res is 1920 x 1080 and I wont be getting two ! I would like to plug PC into a flat screen TV one day though my tower is very heavy so I cant see that happening !
Will 4Gb be wasted, if its dpi based and only worth going beyond 2Gb if having two monitors then 2Gb may be enough, but I always feel that games soon move on beyond current Gb limits, but am confused that the internet dsicussion about 2 v 4 said its all about dpi and not the game.
I will only be getting one card.
I previously though the fan blowing out through the second bay vent was a great idea but these are proving noisier in the noise tests than fans into the case interior and MSI are quietest of cards tested with that traditional method so I will go MSI.
The PC spec I recieved had :-
Intel Core i7 4820K Extreme with 780 Ti 3Gb and Asus ROG Rampage IV Extreme Motherboard as one option.
another at £500 less was Intel Core i7 4790 with GTX 780 Ti 3Gb and Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming GT
then a third option £790 less again Intel Core i5 4690K with GTX 750 Ti 2Gb and Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3 Motherboard
What are your thoughts on the processor and maybe MB'd given the avoid bottleneck advice you give ?
I am completely out of touch with Processors knowledge wise.
I read that :-
If it is a quad core CPU in order for it to use all four cores it needs the four ram sticks to communicate with otherwise it cannot work as fast as possible.
so one would need 4 x 16Gb for 64Gb.
I wanted to be able to go for 128Gb ram for high end CAD work and understood Win7 64 Pro enables this but then get told the motherboards available wouldnt see 128Gb ram.
I see the 780 is DirectX 11, is CloD okay with DirectX 11 ? When it came out it required DX10, just wondered if its developers have modded it to suit DX11 as they exited the stage before DX 11 and the 780 came on the scene, I would think, slightly guessing at timescales here though.
This thread doesnt sound good:-
