He stepped down a few days ago, six months after retiring as CEO. No big whoop really but what an end of an era at Microsoft! I guess I just like reading super rich peoples email. (some stuff about Microsofts direction as well) ... Steve Ballmer's resignation letter

At his level of personal wealth I think he finally sorted out the issues relating to building a lair.
First there's the layout to work through - one wants to balance the area and barracks for the henchmen to train and live in with the section devoted to hookers and blow without making either intrusive to the overall design or conflicting with each other, for example.
Then there's site selection. Extinct volcano islands that are in reasonable helicopter range of the mainland of a reasonably developed country are rare, and it's got to be covert submarine accessible, which narrows it down even further. Just the logistics of getting the workers and the equipment out there would take a year or two to work out.
But it's heartening to know he's given the green light to the project.
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."

Well, lets hope that Miscrosoft get its shiat together and start releasing good stuff once and for all. I'm sick of their hipster/social/mega cool direction. I want my desktop PC to work as a desktop PC and my Skype to call people, nothing more, nothing less.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

PCs are dinosaurs, didn't you know. Not for businesses but they certainly seem to be for many home users.

But home users consume content, they don't produce content. That's the key. PC will never be replaced for that, because you just can't, say write code on an iPad, or render a scene on an iPhone.
Microsoft is feeding their users to the competition if you ask me.

Some home users produce content. Most do not, but there are still a large number of people who do, including those that run home side businesses with one and also use it for personal stuff.
You don't think all those people making those great YouTube videos edit all that stuff on iPads or smartphones, do you?
