Woa. Just realized I can still hum the Shaka series main theme. Almost 30 years after watching it on TV.

I still have the single on CD. It was a top ten hit in The Netherlands at the time.

The Engine Room
I was once told a story back from maybe 1990 or so.... an LSL - the "Sir" boats of Falklands infamy - was somewhere in the Med, Cyprus I think. In the evenings just after dusk they'd rig up a projector on the flight deck with a big white sheet as a screen and show a movie. This particular night it was Zulu. At the height of the battle the Donkeyman (Chief Petty Officer of the engine room) came wobbling back up the gangway quite drunk. He grabbed a broom stick and started bayoneting the Zulus and playing his own part in the Battle of Rourke's Drift. I'm told he was so immersed in the battle it took three people to disarm him and carry him back to his bunk.

Same here, some things just stick lol. I rewatched the series last year, loved Henry Celle in the series as Shaka.
