Debt of Honor by Tom Clancy. I love this novel . . . well, mostly. The only thing really grinding on my nerves about it is the extreme detail on how the stock market works (as well as world economics). The very thing I find so endearing about Clancy when it comes to real-world weaponry, gadgets, and espionage is major league boring when applied to DOW, NASDAQ, Wallstreet, etc . . . smile

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

Viper Pilot: A Memoir of Air Combat by Dan Hampton.

I gave up on Clancy a long time ago because of the excruciating detail he goes into on too many things. Although one day I'll re-read Red Storm Rising as that book was great.

Also reading a Clancy Classic - "Without Remorse".

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Now reading Old Man's War by John Scalzi. So far it's a brilliant book - sciency but not too much, with Scalzi's dry humor on most pages - and a story (75-year old man who joins an interstellar army and gets a new body) that is fast-paced and interesting.

Going back to Terry Pratchett. I restarted the whole cycle.

FInished Fourth Crisis: The Battle for Taiwan by Peter Bleichert. It's a forgettable book - reads like a movie script for a Michael Bay movie and has just about as much character development as these movies.

Now reading Heavy Weather by Wodehouse.

Gonna check out the Dune series again. It's been ages since I read the whole lot, should keep me busy til Spring!

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck.”

Read 5 and 25's for some reason (Micheal Pitre). Was a gift. No idea why that seemed like a good idea. And trippy as most of the novel takes place around places I was in Iraq. Hell just like the news right now. UGH

And reading J.R.R. Tolkien's vary annoying Silmarillion.
