What's the most recent non-English language film you saw? Just curious to see the replies for a little blog I'm workig on. As for me, my most recent non-English language film was "Ran" by Akira Kurosawa, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089881/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Not recent at all, but my two very favorite foreign films: Dark Blue World (Czech) A Tale of Two Sisters (Korean) Why oh why have these not been released on bluray?

Ah one of my favourite film makers, I have Ran and Kagemusha in my collection, we had a season of them on Channel 4 in the UK in the late 1980s and they showed the likes of Yo jimbo, Seven Samurai, and a few others I can't remember off hand. Shogun is still one of my favourite TV series along with The Water Margin, I have Shogun on DVD and the first half of The water Margin, I need to get the second half of it but it is long out of production. Ah Hah a quick search and... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Water-Margin-Com...he+water+margin 80 Wow! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0227975/

Stalker (1979, Russian)
That was a while ago, I don't watch movies often so it's not a frequent thing to see foreign language films.

You can't go wrong having Chamberlain, Mifune and John Rhys Davies on your cast. As for Kurosawa, I've been a huge fan for a long time. I like his non-Samurai films as well like "High & Low" and "Dreams".
