I want to relive the glory days! Anyone else? I'm going to play it again. And then the following 2 episodes (and Lost Coast).

After that I will once again settle into that hopeless expectation of a 3rd episode. Hey, it's all part of the fun! smile

Don't forget to play both Portal games, too!

Fun series.

To this very day, IMO the greatest game ever made.

Hell, I think I'll play it again as well.

I just recently re-installed HL2 as well. A classic in every sense of the word.

Just re-installed it myself to play through again. Never finished episode two. Was tempted to try it with one of these new graphics mods but just don't have the energy to download and figure out how to install them.

Can someone explain portal to me? I started those games but am confused as they don't play how they make it look in the advertisement. I thought P2 had these two kooky robot characters that you interact with? I started P2 and there was very little of that and a lot of just puzzle solving. Did I not give it enough time?

Portal is a puzzle solving game, not sure what you mean by it not following the ads.

Scully: Victim died of multiple stab wounds.
Mulder: *throws her a file* Ever heard of the knife alien?

In Portal 2 (single player) you play this girl who is trapped in a hugh underground labratory comprised of these connected test chambers. Eventually you have to solve all these puzels (tests) to make your way up to the surface. There is this Robot who helps you in some levels, but its mainly you having to solve these test on your own.

The Two robots you see in the Cover art for this game are "P-body" and "Atlas". They are only on Coop mode if you play online. You will be one of those 2 and the other player is the other. The test chambers are set up in a way that it requires both of you to work together to solve the puzzle and move on to the next one. Some are very cleaver and fun, but it can be frustrating if your paired up with someone who doesnt get it.

I only played P2 coop against random people and I kept killing them on purpose because it was so funny but they would just leave...how selfish.

Remember that Lost Coast takes place in the middle of HL2. It's literally a deleted level. I forget where exactly, but if you Google it you'll see where the level was supposed to take place. Last time I played HL2, maybe 4-5 years ago or so, I stopped HL2 when I got to that point, switched to Lost Coast (which takes less than an hour), then went back.

Don't give up on Portal! The puzzles become increasingly challenging, and there is a 'story' with plot twists as the guiding computer voice taunts you towards the end. I personally like the original Portal a little better than the sequel but they both offer amazing game play. Portal 2 gets really awesome later in the game when you find a much older area of the lab... I may have already said too much. wink

Yes, both games are good but for different reasons. They provide different experiences despite the puzzle solving similarities.

The goo was an excellent addition.

And of course there's the awesome soundtrack! Talk about a catchy main theme.
