Help.. I've been seduced by Tata motors. Thinking about buying a used Jag...

It has fairly low miles for 2005 (44k). The price is right as well. Almost to good to be true.. sigh
....

Does anyone have any practical experience with this model?

No experience with the X-Type. I have a 2001 XK8 that has been very dependable.

Here is some info if you don't already have it.

Thanks oldgrognard. Glad I'm not the only one who has fallen under the spell. I heard stories about folks replacing their engines with Chevy 350's back in the '80's for serviceability reasons, however, it appears things have changed since.

Speaking of which.. How has your service experience been regarding cost etc.?

That's true, but the car it was based on was the Mondeo which wasn't an awful car by any means.

My brother had one until recently. In green with beige leather interior (a good combination),however it was converted to run on LPG and it did prove a little unreliable. However my brother is able to go through cars at quite a rate and always picks the duds.

I have to say the X type is a very nice car and in the past I had considered picking one up,a 3 litre petrol/auto was my preferred choice but in the end I went for an XF.

EV's are the Devils matchbox.
