for the last 3 months i had to re-engineer my chairs around a buttkicker LFE and staples office chair, after i found that cheap ebay racing seats were cutting off circulation to my leg.

he is the final result of engineering the chair base.
last thing i need is the oculus rift, and my simpit(s) are complete.

hope to fly with u guys soon

Well done, Hannibal. Terrific carpentry skills and really clever resign of the pedals. Very compact build. Only thing missing is a safety harness. I bet the OR v2 can induce some rather lurching sensations. Have fun.

I'm planning on ordering DK2 soon. Getting it working with DCS doesn't sound so bad. I suppose for it to work with BMS might be a little more difficult. I might end up having to use TrackIR and the Rift just for visuals in BMS. Hope not.

All that being said, I've reduced myself to just the HOTAS and a G13 while simming. The G13 is mounted directly to the left of my throttle, and I can use it by feel without having to look. I'm trying to pre-train myself for the Rift. smile The G13 is mainly being used for comms (also for ICP), but I can also use voice commands through Shoot.

Hi hannibal, I've been watching your designs for sometime. I need to make a chair much like you did to use on my desk since I don't have room for a cockpit like I would realy would have wanted. I think your design looks fantastic, hope you don't mind but I thought of copying it's looks for mine. I was in the process of designing something in sketchup but I like yours better, and it will be a lot sturdier too. Anyway just letting you know you have a fan now! smile

I wouldn't order the DK2. Wait for the consumer version. That said the DK2 is fun to play around with, and great for developer purposes, but its not ready for serious combat flight sim usage.

Normally I would agree with you on waiting, but I've gotten the feeling that the consumer version could be another two years in the waiting.

the last of my shaker/transducer hardware is now complete.

last item on the list is the oculus rift, and a PC upgrade in 2016.
