You could call it cheating, or brilliant - as you both did. I call it "quick-witted"! biggrin

First combat in my FFA 32 career, in November 1915, over Artois. I had already seen some other enemy planes, but they were too far and too fast for my plane, and I had to abandon pursuit before being in position to attack. This one flew just in front of me (and of an Eindecker, but the pilot seemed to have ignore it), with just a less altitude than me, so I began to follow him. He was a bit faster, but I stayed in contact, and he finally choosed to make a 180-turn on the left, allowing me to get close enough to open fire. But the Morane has a far better arc of fire, I hit him a bit, and in return he hit my fuel tank. And it was quite problematic as we were on the british side of the lines, hopefully at 2000 m. My engine stopped over Arras, but I managed to glide over no man's land, under heavy ground fire, I landed between the lines, wounded but alive! I have to find a way to pilot those Eindeckers!

Beware of the Morane Parasol, actionjoe - their return fire is often veryx lethal!

Would you tell me your town, Joe? I'd like to add you to our OFF Forum Pilots Maps.

That was a long hard fight Mfair but you finally managed to get on his six and stay there long enough to take him out.
Good shooting. I know the visibility in your cockpit is really tough with that windshield!

Thanks Robert, I was defense most of the time. He seemed to be able to out climb me at will.

I found myself ducking in my chair on a couple of those looping passes. Good job, MFair !
Those bullet holes in the lower left wing sure came close to taking out a strut

Thanks Mudwasp. One of the things I love about WOFF is that it did not take me long to figure out "this guy is good!" When I saw the "B" on his fuselage I knew who he was. After that it was "what can I do to get this guy off my tail!" I got lucky in the end. Gotta Love it!

Man, is it good to be back in the world of technology where I can finally see some of these fine videos! That was fun, MFair! I especially liked the inverted loop shot! And I also like how your Archie decided they would help you out...after the guy was already down for the count!

Oh, and Augustus McCrae sends his best!

Nice work on Otto, MFair. You took your time and didn't get over-excited on either the stick or the gun. Excellent flying and conservative shooting, sir! /salute

Thanks folks. Hellshade, If you would have seen the sweat on the joy stick you would change your tune about not getting excited. I still need to get better at not loosing altitude during a turn. I know how, I just forget in the heat of the moment. Glad you are back with us Rick.

Thanks MudWasp, it's good to be back! If I can survive this weekend camping with the cub scouts in Utah, we should have a new challenge coming up!
