Anyone with Orbx Global+Vector+OpenLC, I need you to confirm or deny this. Select Vagar Airport and see if the end of R30's approach looks the same.

Looks like an error from the airport flatening poly. Maybe someone can alter it.

It looks ok for me;

I'm using Orbx Global+Vector+OpenLC, with FSGenesis mesh.

Mate, could you take a screen of your scenery insertion points for me?

Hi DetCord,

It was a bit tricky as the FTX Central doesn't allow you to expand to see the whole list, but hopefully this will help;

Above my insertion point I have a load of addon airports and these FTX entries;

These carry on through all my FTX Regions until the insertion point. Below the insertion point I have general FSX entries and then;

Right at the bottom is this;

I hope this makes sense
dizzy

The only other thing I did was run the "Airport elevation corrections" option in the FTX Global Vector Configuration tool.

Cheers,

Steve

That's interesting. I actually had to deselect several (and counting) airport elevations as they were plateauing. I suspect that the FS Genesis has a difference of opinion in some cases as I'd assume that FTX would play nice with stock FSX.

Thanks for the screens mate. I resolved it by manually editing the scenery insertion points.

So, in what order did you put them to resolve the issue? My St Louis is either on a mountain or in a forrest depending on whether I select the airfield fix or not...neither looks good.

Run the elevation fix following said changes. Of course, this is not to say that other issues won't crop up.

Forget it. Resolved some issues, others persist.

Correct order according to Orbx:
Quote:
FTX Global Base
FTX Global Vector
FTX Global Open LC (When Available)
Terrain Mesh
FTX Full Regions
FTX Airports

However, I don't seem to have Global Base anywhere in my scenery library and it's sure as #%&*$# installed.

Do you have "XXXX Base" entries where XXXX are numbers? I don't see anything else in my list that would fall under FTX Base except for those.

So, my current order looks something like this:

After some Megascenery (disabled unless I use it) and some Aerosoft add ons I have these:

Then after the specialized scenery areas (i.e. Edwards, Istanbul, Reno, etc), I have a slew of those BASE files that I'm assuming is FTX Global Base (?)

And those run all the way to the end where the default scenery is loaded.

Looks similar to mine, I have all the XXXXBase entries but I have more OpenLC entries (ORBIX!OPENLC_EUROPE2 running sequentially to ORBIX!OPENLC_EUROPE10).

My Vector entries are similar to yours, however the last one (ORBIX!VECTOR_AEC) is on its own below the rest, just above the Default Scenery entry. ORBIX!VECTOR_AEC is the entry that contains the airport elevation corrections.

It mentions in the Vector manual that the library priorities should be left as the installer enters them to avoid problems;

"What is very important to note is that the Vector installer places those entries at very specific locations in your
Scenery Library and locks them in. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE THEM UP OR DOWN IN THE SCENERY LIBRARY.
Doing so may lead to unexpected results, particularly with airport elevations and also suppressing other
scenery addons with the excludes contained within Vector. The bottom line is that you should let the installer
manage the Scenery Library entries and don’t try to edit their locations
"

Hope this helps,

Steve

Hmm, well then I don't know what the answer is.

Here's STL for me with airport elevation on...

And off...

So, something isn't correct. I also get a lot of double bridges and such.

Hi Deacon211 - sorry not sure what else to suggest - I had a quick look at St Louis in my sim and the elevations were ok but I had double bridges down by the river.

Something is certainly #%&*$# up here, I just have no idea what it is. I'm going to shift all of the Orbx specific terrain entries below the XXXX Base files and see what happens. I just find it odd that they'd suggest ordering them differently from their default positions.

EDIT - Nothing is working. Brussels still looks like the screen on the previous page, and Vagar is back to looking the same as before.

EDIT Again... Disabled the Vector indexes and everything looks good. Problem is, I paid for vector and would like to use it.

That's interesting about Vector. I would say trying it below base, but I think that would basically overwrite all the things vector does.

I'm thinking the ORBX forums might be the place for this. I'm sure we are not the only ones with problems.

So, I found this on the ORBX forum. I'm guessing that they are slowly fixing these. Strange that places like LAS and STL wouldn't have been caught.

Add Brussels national to that list as well as Frankfurt and Stuttgart. They were caught, no way they couldn't have been. Isn't new for developers to release unfinished products in this day and age. Why would Orbx be any different?

Well uhh, ahem, I fixed it.

I was running Traffic 360, wasn't happy with it at all and decided to uninstall it and go back to WoAI. All of the elevation and terrain issues are now gone. If you guys are running a Traffic addon or something else that adds buildings or assets like GSX, you might wanna try and deactivate or uninstall them and see if it fixes the issue.

Still, there are other issues with these three Orbx products as I understand. Just thought you guys should know.
