Had a quick try. Game crashed on me when asking permission to land at station. And had a disappearing station a few times one's insite.

Well, it's still Beta wink

I need a newbie primer to docking biggrin

But the station I was going around just disappeared... hehehe. Then lost connection...

I think that if you add friends, you can create private groups they can play in.

Reading a good update log is always informative. Can;t wait to finally try something other than the combat scenarios.
I'm a little worried about the reduction in greebles though.

Ok, logged my first hour or so...

I'm impressed, amazed and mouth agape.
While hardly perfect (it's a beta)- there's SO much to talk about I honestly don't know where to start.

I was afraid this would have been just some tack-on stuff on top of the Premium Beta...
Boy I was wrong- despite reading the change-log I was still completely blown away by the amount of improvement I've seen.

Basically- literally- everything got a new pass or a tweak to say the least, from the sounds (everyone of them has been improved!) to GUI, to.. and that's awesome.. the galaxy.

I've never seen so many ships around. Given it was mostly NPC, but a surprising amount of PC too.
Also in SuperCruise. You still get a very rough transition from normal flight to the two "upper gear"- but overall effects and the feeling...

It's all there. Frontier has made it.
As of now I feel like the money I've spent are justly done for.

I've never had a bigger grin on my face (for a videogame)...

This could be my impression but I felt graphics where improved AND smoother.
Except for single player missions- I've noticed some minor graphical glitches.

Only two CTD in an hour, and only in the first 15 minutes and then it was as good as it gets.
Apparently they HAVE been adding servers... biggrin

I've had a small amount of HOTAS setting to re-place (three). YMMV.

Ah! Don't forget to set the two new keystroke to bring up the new communications panels! biggrin

This was a good day.

1st impressions:

Lighting has improved a lot, sounds are better, the new solar flares look amazing, you can now see other ships while in supercruise, missions are nice and provide good money, the Viper and Lakon 6 look great, and for all the steering-challenged there's now a docking computer.

And there a lots of new systems to discover. Only played for 2 hrs but this looks like a very nice update that should keep me busy quite some time.

And to think we still haven't got mining and still missing a bunch of ships (25 in total) amongst other things, but this is a real beta.

Getting an Eagle won't take so long now, the bulletin board missions will certainly help.

No time to play right now frown. Is the Beta purely online multi-player or is there an offline option?

Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people.

It is online only but you can select solo to play single player.

Supercruise doesn't seem to work, the trip to Ibooty was flawless in hyperspace but it would take me until Christmas to reach Charon, cuss

I'm bandwidth short at this part of the month so don't want to kick off the update and end up capped. Can someone give me an idea of the size of the update?

Thanks.

Supercruise and hyperspace jump now share one key. It's context sensitive. If you have targeted a star, you'll jump, if you have targeted nothing or a station/planet you'll engage supercruise.

I'd say ~ 2GB.
