Was just going to post this, but What's the Catch? Too good of a deal to be true, not the EA way... but if it works like I hope, 30 bucks a year is awesome... I play yearly the Madden series, NHL series, and PGA Tour series, that 60 bucks times 3 plus another 100 for all the golf courses. And I read this includes BF4 and the new Dragon Age. again, what's the catch? I bet a pay check something off the wall comes out about it in a week or 2. http://www.ea.com/news/ea-announces-ea-a...s=1406654736667

when you cancel you no longer get access to games?
I dunno, maybe they are "trials", which are a step above Demos...

I wouldn't take that bet Magnum. It's kinda fun to 'out-evil' EA though. Here's the worse I can come up with: - Titles come and go even if you don't cancel, i.e. not only don't you own FIFA14 from the Vault if you cancel the subscription, but in 3 months time it just disappears for no reason (only if play numbers go up for it though). - No DLC, as in bait and switch on something like BF4, knowing that vanilla is pretty much empty and that DLC has to be bought. Make money on up-selling, even for subscription owners with 'Premium' as the paid norm. - Obvious title gaps, i.e. have the market data to know that Madden 2014 buyers like NHL 14, but never include it in the Vault. Perhaps include NHL14 in 3 months, but then take out Madden 14. - Market the living bejeebus out of sub holders for new titles. Know that they really want FIFA15, but are playing FIFA14 in purgatory. - Use this as an excuse to crack down on existing 'used sales' of older titles, i.e. 'Vault Members' get MP server access, others perhaps not so much.. - Something on page 13 of the Terms of Service about claiming rights your first-born, on the assumption no-one reads that anyway.

EA Approached Sony for this too,
Sony didnt want anything to do with it.
"it's not worth the money"
So.. Even with EA Being the worst company yearly.
FIFA Alone is the highest selling Sports Franchise Game on Consoles. Then Madden
So basically they are saying NO to allowing their users access to about 5 AAA Top Selling Titles for $5/month/$30/year....
Thanks Sony for Helping MS Catch up in Sales.

Are all the facts known about the ToS and EULA from EA concerning this "service?"

Sony Fans are saying it was good that sony rejected the idea, And if Sony had not rejected it the Sony fans would all be saying what a great deal it was.

Yeah, Right now, Sony FB's are saying that $5/month or $30/year is a rip, and that it's good "Sony recognizes their customers arent endless ATMs" Umm... OK, For Sports Games (ie FIFA and MADDEN, NHL, Etc), I'd rather Pay $30/year and get access to the new one every year, than Pay $59 Each every year for a game ($180 for me), then shelve it when the next year's comes out and they cut MP Servers for it, and have to drop another $180 for the new ones. Who's Ripping off who?. For BF Series and stuff, I'd prolly play the crap out of it for the better part of a year, and eventually get it from EB Used or discounted later on. Depending on the Games List on it by Christmas Time, I may finally just Spring for an XBO

Thing is Skate... I'm not sure the new releases are included... IE: it says Madden 25, but I want the Madden 15 that comes out in mid Aug. It says BF3, but if I didn't have it already I'd want BF4... it looks like it might be a good service for those who can or are willing to play the last version not the newest version... of course I could be reading that all wrong.
For 30 bucks a year, give me complete access to Madden 15, NHL 15, PGA Tour 15 within a week of store release, then replace with 2016 versions next year, and that will work... but that sounds too good to be true and not the EA way.

that's what I'm assuming they are doing.... The list i have says BF4.
They'll still charge for DLC, Expansions and "Premium" Packages though.

I think there is a mis-understanding going on here about how this works. Here are some quotes from EA's site: As an additional perk, EA Access members get an exclusive 10% discount on EA digital purchases on Xbox One. Use your 10% discount on Madden NFL 15, Madden Ultimate Team, Battlefield 4, Battlefield 4 Premium, FIFA 15, FIFA Ultimate Team, EA SPORTS UFC, Need for Speed Rivals, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, Peggle 2 and NBA LIVE 14, with more titles coming soon Wait…what? So why would there be a need to "purchase" anything if your access fee supposedly lets you play un-restricted titles anyway? f you’re an EA Access member, you can download upcoming EA games five days before the release date to play for a limited time. Madden NFL 15, NHL 15, FIFA 15, NBA LIVE 15 and Dragon Age: Inquisition are all included, with more to come. If you love it, buy it, and you can pick up right where you left off. So if you think this access program will let you play AAA sports titles or other release day titles you're mistaken. I too play Fifa and NHL every year…I'm guessing…say…NHL 15 won't be added to their un-restricted "Vault" until a couple months before NHL 16 comes out. And when a new title comes out the multiplayer for the previous title drys up so it becomes useless anyway. It's not as great of a deal as you're thinking.

Imagine having to pay per hour when your flying DCS or any of your Steam games?
I wouldn't put it past DCS to do that, or switch to a monthly subscription service. Although to be honest, that might be a better deal than what they're doing now with $40-50 single aircraft DLCs. I'd be willing to try EA Access when they add some more games to the vault. The "catch" that Magnum wonders about will be what games they add, and how quickly they add them. If they're only adding a couple of the oldest games every several months to the vault, it's not going to feel quite as worth it. If we can get some of the new releases in there quickly, it will be great.
I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

It's EA so I wouldn't hold you breath that you'll get new releases less than a year after release on this EA Access.

From what I have seen they will have last years sports titles in "The Vault". You can get the new ones with the discount, and you have access to them 5 days before they come out. I can't figure out if you get access if you didn't buy the new games, like a trial, but I kind of think thats how it will work.
