Kind of confirms that there really is nothing out there free that is worth my time. Tried Slacker, Jango, TuneIn Radio..meh. Pandora, Spotify are not available in Canada.
Back to SiriusXM, turns out I miss the music channels. $4 a month is a much better deal that the $10 every other sub based service is asking (Google Play Music, Sony, iTunes, Slacker etc.)

I don't think there are other options out there since XM and Sirius got together. I just use the regular radio, but I love the classic country channels on Sirius when I've had reason to drive one of my parents cars.

I am really liking Google Play. Do you have a subscription, or are you using the base version ? I have that installed as well, I have a library of 5600 songs, so shuffle works nicely. Just wish it had an equalizer.

That's odd, I have an equalizer in mine. It's not perfect, the settings are a bit coarse, but it gets the job done.
For some strange reason, it's called equalizer in one version and SoundAlive in the other.

No premium, I just use it to listen to music I've already got downloaded. It's under settings alongside all the other options. As I said, it's called equalizer using the one shortcut but SoundAlive under the other.
You may be right that there could be regional differences at work.
