240-280z would be awesome.
Agree on the RX7, would love to see an update to the wankel engine. Had an 85 GSL-SE, loved that car.
Would love to see a return of the Cuda and the GTX as well.

I've been wondering about the Cuda. I keep seeing these enigmatic commercials on Velocity channel showing a Shaker hood. Could swear I've seen a Challenger with one, but I wonder if they'll bring the Cuda over to Dodge to re-release it. RX-7...240/260/280X...I'd love to see these, but not as they would likely be. I want a return to the affordable sports car, not an overpriced, over "electronic'd" car. I loved my '82 RX7, and my best friend's '76 Z. The current Miata has lost its way from what it was with the NA and NB. Still a nice car, but not the simple affordable performer that it used to be. The cars we love from the 60's to 80's were affordable fun, which is why they did so well. Now they use the badges to sell cars that end up $30-40k or FAR more, not holding to that same ideology. Still, I agree with most choices here. RX7, as in the first 2 gens 240-280Z Fiero (I'd still like to have one of the last ones after they got ironed out and looked so good) Mitsubishi Conquest TSI....so aggressive looking, I'd like to see lines like that make a comeback Buick Turbo Regal (RWD of course)...as well as the other G Body cars, 442 and Monte Carlo SS El Camino...especially with that 80's Monte Carlo SS look...bring the Aussie cars over! Toyota MR2....I liked the last one, but LOVED the first gen. A bit more cargo room would be good. Firebird/Trans Am....no more Pontiac, but just figure it out dammit. I'd love a new Formula 400/455 or even similar to the mid-late 80's. There are some Camaro conversions that look fantastic. Dodge Lil Red Wagon....the timing is perfect, but base it on a good looking reworked Dakota. Plymouth Prowler....but a 6 speed Hemi, how it should have been done in the first place. Plenty more! I also wish Alfa would hurry up their return to the US, that's been talked about for a few years now.

Agreed. They have gotten a lot more complicated. The FB RX7s were amazing little cars that got heavier and more complicated through the C and D models. The FDs are amazing cars but the engines were lucky to get past 80K before needing new apex seals. The engines were simply not up to the task of the HP demands, at least over time.
My son drives a 300zx right now. Not the twin turbo version but an NA 92. Nice car, pretty fun to drive but much heavier than my old RX7 and it feels like it. Plus the car is a flat out b*tch to work on. The cool thing about the 85RX7 that I owned was that it was still a relatively easy car to work on. Yes it was fuel injected (the GSL-SE version was) but you could reach anything in the car. Just replacing the starter in that 300zx involves dropping the front sway bar and one of the bolts is almost impossible to get at, unless you have Japanese size hands. Wife had to do that part for me.
My goal after my son is on his own is to get another FB Rx-7, and then restore it. I would love a 79, the first year of production for the US. The cars are just so cool.

Maybe not a come back car...
I'd LOVE to see simple vehicles again!
In 1982 I learned to drive a manual in my dad's bought new 1979 Chevy C-10 BASIC pickup truck with three on the tree. At that time you could buy...a truck. NO bells or whistles. No power anything. AM/FM radio with one speaker in the dash was about the only comfort option. For Cheap! These were great trucks for hauling and general daily drivers. Holy heck, nowadays the cheapest truck you can buy has many bells and whistles, and you're lucky to not spend as much as a mid sized luxury car.
Along the same lines, as a Jeep guy with a '97 TJ Wrangler Sport, there's no way in hell I can afford a new Jeep anymore. What happened to the old TJ Wranglers that you could pick up for $15K-$18K new? Fairly basic with AM/FM, intermittent wipers, AC, power steering and brakes...and that was it? Today if I want a new version of what I have I'd have to spend an easy $27K-$35K. Jeeps are...or were...like Harleys. You buy a basic version and mod the hell out of it to personalize it to make it your own. Today Jeeps are on about the same level as a Cadillac, and some have the same or more options!
Yeah, so cool muscle or sports cars would be great to see come back, I'd also like to see affordable versions with less options of some vehicles.
Give me a '15 Jeep Wrangler for say $17,000 without the comfort soccer mom options. Something I could afford to lift and not be afraid to scratch or bang up on an off road trail.

I pull them up on ebay quite a lot. My '96 Miata reminds me of it a lot, other than the top of course. Faster too, but oddly enough I hate convertibles. LOL It just drives so well and reminds me of the old '82 I had in college. Maybe one day. They don't take up a lot of space and the prices haven't gone up like the '70's Z cars (yet).

Triumph TR6
In the early 70's, there was a Triumph dealer nearby with a green one in the show room window, I used to stand there with my nose pressed against the window, staring at it, like a kid staring in a toy store window. At the time, I was driving a 64 Ford Falcon, standard shift, manual choke, that I had to park on a hill, because the battery always went dead overnight. Get it rolling, pop the clutch and away we went in a cloud of blue smoke.

For all the snorts they get today, AMC had some great cars.
The Gremlin was bullet proof. Might not be great looking, but they always ran even when they shouldn't. Good power to weight ratio....but if you wanted to really get up and go one could get a Hornet and change out the engine and transmission, as there was acres of room under the hood to put just about any large block Chevy engine (and the mount fittings matched!).
And the Plymouth Duster. The most covert muscle car of its day, we tore up and down our county roads in a way that would make Bo and Luke blush in one.
It's hard to throw nostalgia out of the mix when considering cars of days gone by - otherwise I'd be singing the praises of the VW Bug (not that chick car they make now), the mid-70's Civic, and yes, the Pinto. Sure did learn a lot about maintenance in them; and while they did require it they were simple to work on. Any bozo with a Chilton manual and a third grade reading level could figure out how to do just about everything on them.

This! Jaguar got everything right with that car. When it was revealed at the Geneva auto show in 1961, Enzo Ferrari himself called it the most beautiful car ever made!
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!
