This is a survival horror game. It's not meant to rush through the levels quickly. I believe there will be lots of lingering and backtracking and relocating to hide. Part of how long it will take you to finish is going to be luck, part your ability to find useful items quickly, part to come up with tactics to survive to avoid continually reloading. smile

I've not seen Kotto in anything for years. Wow.

It's too bad they couldn't get Ian Holm. I wonder if it was a scheduling issue or if he just wasn't interested?

Read an article a while back in which he refused, though he did license his image for the game. IIRC, the stated reason was his age and how his voice had changed over the years. He wasn't comfortable with how different it was as he's progressed in age and suggested using audio from Alien instead.

If you watch the video Bib posted, they all sound different with the exception being Weaver and maybe Skerrit. Stanton sounds nothing like he did in the film, nor does Kotto, or Cartwright for that matter. Hell, Stanton couldn't even remember when Alien was filmed in that video.

EDIT - This guy remastered the entire soundtrack himself. Amazing stuff (track #7)! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvB0UIDIhi0&index=1&list=PLfrXYzprLsbMNrpGjdeAWwE-T141OXJeL

I still have a nostalgic crush on Veronica Cartwright. To me, one of the most terrifying things in Alien was Lambert's last moment as she was confronted by the creature. I've rarely seen such convincing fear acted out in a movie. (also loved her as Betty Grissom in The Right Stuff)

Yeah, I found that part of the interview both funny and sad. Hey, he was only off by 5 years! smile

And she was very good in the couple of X-Files episodes she guest-starred on.

Yeah mate, but they could've utilized the audio from the film for the in-game characters. Honestly, this seems more like a gimmick than anything else. But hey, at least I get to explore the Nostromo.

Agreed. I think CA hired the original cast to record in person so they could say "hey! We brought back the original cast!" It was done mostly for marketing/publicity reasons because most of the actors don't sound the same as they did in 1979.

She was on that new show Resurrection, I think she'll be back for the next season as well.

I played and finished the demo at SDCC. Loved it. Will buy. There were no weapons in the demo. All you had was a tracker and places to hide. If the alien found you... game over man.

I played the ACM demo at the 2012 SDCC and knew there were gonna be problems. I did not buy that one because of the demo.

Survivor mode footage:

Did they choose the worst player in the world to make it look more difficult than it really is?

You can pre-order it on Steam now if you happen to be brave enough to risk 50 bucks.
