My peeve is leaving out the 'to be' in a sentence.
ie This car needs fixed.
BUT - I think internet forums are a force for good in terms of grammar and in making folks think about what they actually think. Even if it is sometimes wrong...!

for my money, nothing makes a person sound more ignorant and dumb than using "of" instead of "have". I.E. "I would of done this" or "I should of done that".
You sound like an absolute imbecile when you do that.
I think it is an apathy about spelling thing, and generally not caring or realising that you look like a total numpty. This combines with lack of emphasis on spelling and grammar in school, and the 'not wanting students to fail' thing that Panzer mentioned.

Never seen that. When I hear it, it sounds like the conjunction "should've". Either that or the "h" sound is very soft when saying it with a southern accent.

Not all of us are formally educated, I barely finished HS and now in my late-40's I'm playing catch-up on several subjects. When I have something important to write I let my wife proofread it, always reminds me how imperfect I am. But on a message board I just try to do my best.
EDIT (per above post): So e.g. (example given?) is better than i.e. (included example)? I'll make a note of that.

I wouldn't say e.g. is better than i.e., they are used for different things. They are both latin, and I can't remember what they stand for, but the translation is: e.g.: For example. i.e.: That is.
So you use I.e. when there is only one case, such as "The world's biggest air force, i.e. the USAF, has an absolute crapton of aircraft'. e.g. when there is more than one case, such as The USAF's jet aircraft, e.g. the F-16, are really fast."

Well, your sentence doesn't start with a capital letter. Also, the period goes inside the quotation marks.
"For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Matthew 5:11
Indeed we call blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, because “the Lord is compassionate and merciful. James 5:11

Don't worry Mark, I'm sure you make more money than half the folks here complaining of bad grammar.
Thanks, but probably not. However, it's a good bet that I spend less money than half the folks here [complaining of bad grammar]. For example, my hobby is usually satisfied with a trip to Goodwill.
Other than taking on the occasional side project, my wife is my personal Kickstarter and the only one I answer to. She's not as demanding as the typical gamer/simmer but occasionally wants to see progress, while reminding me when I need extra time on the treadmill.
This is scary though...
I once walked into the office on a Monday morning and it was gone! The entire office was packed and removed over the weekend and we show up on Monday morning to an empty building. Never got the last two-weeks pay, the owner ended up in prison for defrauding the government, I believe.
Some neat projects with this company including a submarine trainer for the Navy (emergency stuff like busted piping, not electronics).

I know a few guys who could not write legibly to save their lives, let alone bought/brought and all that sort of jazz. Thing is, they can do a ground up restoration on a car with their eyes closed including stripping down and rebuild all of the mechanical parts and rewire the electrical. Of course they are not going to be on the net commenting on youtube vids or forums though
