Ya the auto updater on first installing steam version pops up. Or with DLC's as well. So long as you hit save and play it does everything fine. Can easily install mods and DLC's from other retailers as well.

Graviteam Tactics: Shilovo 1942

Note, this DLC features a massive amount of units, so it will require a powerful system. Also, you have to use the limit battle radius setting.

Can you add a retail version of the base game - and any purchased addons - to Steam, using the purchased serial number? And have it show up then in your Steam library?

No. Steam version is its own thing. So a gamersgate or matrix/whoever are not able to just stick a code in. That sort of thing only really works if there is only 1 publisher. GTOS has many. Unless I am totally wrong or something changed.

Now DLC's bought anywhere will work with steam version. And somehow someone got DLC's bought off of steam to work with a gamersgate version. How they where able to buy the DLC without the steam version as well as downloaded is beyond me.

In the end if you just want to use steam to launch the game you can just add it into steam to launch. But you do not get the steam community page or anything. Unless there is some way to link things up in there.

At 15 euro's...NO. i really think that is crazy. Gamersgate charges less for that. So you want it, get it there IMO.
