Actually, they did a survey and found that most of the life forms on the island either caused cancer or accelerated it. Plus there were spiders. Big ones.

The rambunctious cowboy was missing from that bomb drop.

Considering the size of the island compared to the dust clouds that isn't exactly a gigantic island teeming with life. Relax, only some grass died.

There are something like 500 billion ways you can prevent the death of nature more than diverting bomber practice.

That island is in a USN weapons range. They monitor them for people entering them. It's not some random island in the middle of nowhere that they say "hey, looks empty, bomb it!"

I seriously can't tell if you're being sarcastic but no, there are no refugees. I honestly don't think the movie Castaway happens in real life too often regardless.

The B-52 pilot was just pretending the island was Iwo Jima.

Kudos to whoever setup the camera angle. I find it hard enough to find 'splashes' in video games after a bomb run.

Bomber crew must have a lot of time figuring out how to place the GoPro to capture it all this way.
And it was a clandestined upload to you tube to, clear violation of Air force protocols I am sure.

What a waste of good bombs.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
