I have a few hundred thousand and have been building up parts needed for a mun mission. I really like the fact that you have to do a bunch of those testing part missions just to make enough money / research to get anywhere. Some of those part missions are hard with the random requirements. I had one that I had to activate an air breathing engine in low orbit going a very specific speed +/-100kps. The thing that made it really hard was that I just didnt have any pieces to facilitate activating the engine at that altitude.

Good times. Took about 2 hours but I got it running up there and now I know how to in the future.

Yes, I'm really enjoying the new career mode. Having to think and plan flights with specific goals adds a lot to the sim.

I just made my first orbital flight (and recovered my crewman) of Kerbin and got a real sense of achievement. OK, so deorbit was a random burn and I came down somewhere on the darkside, but it's all good.

Got a whole bunch of science, too.
