Hey guys. Does anybody use any of the OFF mods that can be found in the Combat Ace site? I was reading that OFFice mod and it looked like it was probably a lot of fun. Is there anybody here that is looking to port that over to WOFF. One other question, if you are using any of the OFF mods, which ones do you recommend?

Some of the OFF mods are useable in WOFF.
The main problem being is that there were never many OFF mods to begin with.
A good way to check is to look at the OFF mod itself and compare it to the file it is replacing in WOFF.
Common sense reigns here.
Is there still such a file in WOFF? Are they pretty much the same type/size?

A good example are the various tracer mods. They are essentially identical (except for in-game appearance) so these work in WOFF just fine. Sounds mods SHOULD be okay but require more work- there were a lot of name changes between OFF and WOFF in the Sound folder.

I have not tried it but planes skins will work I believe as long as the plane model has not changed between OFF and WOFF.
Much good stuff there.

Wish we had a big and active modding community for WOFF.

Didn't say they were't good just not so many.

And "many" being relative to other sims.

I understand, but I really don't see what I could add to my list, after modifying FMs, DMs, sounds, map, environment and mission types. smile2 (not talking about skins !)

The download section of OFF mods at Combat Ace has 518 files (incl. some 370 skins)

WOFF being a huge step forward, I don't feel it needs as much modding as OFF did. I'm happy with Aris cloud mod, Ankor's self shadowing, Bletchley's missions for my private campaigns and the great maps by RAF_Louvert for navigation.

On the subject of the mission mods I have been hot to try them however do both the currently available mission mods still interfere with the increased number of two seaters introduced a couple of patches ago?

Corsaire31, did you ever try that mod called OFFice and if so do you think it would add anything to WOFF? From what little I read about it, it sounded interesting.

Personally I would pay money to have OFFice ported over. I started playing too late for OFF, but it looks amazing.

It's a bit hard to find, but the social interaction piece of it was based on Bletchley's work with pilot personalities and encounters. I used it for one campaign and found it helped immersion, though it did get a little monotonous after awhile. OFFice did a little more work with that.

Ah, if you're curious about that aspect of it, Bletchley's version can be downloaded from the fourth post:
http://combatace.com/topic/81144-3p-pilot-personality-profiles/

The second post has a link where you can grab some primers on different aircraft. They may not be entirely accurate since the flight models changed between OFF and WOFF, but might still have some value.

Sorry to hijack thread but feel it may fall into this OFF category. In some videos I have noticed that the writing of various stuff pops up at top center of screen.Stuff like the labels settings, ordering rejoin etc and most importantly when you say go to next waypoint andthe "ok" pops up.In my game the writing shows right underneath the TAC and I like to not have it on.Was there a mod that put the writing at the top of the screen while giving ability to turn the TAC off?

In later versions of WOFF there are new messages for urgent/imortant information, includes waypoint changing info.
See the History of Changes link on downloads pages on our main web for more info.

In there since v 1.11:
"• The sim can now display all the Urgent Messages (Shift+D Toggle On/Off) top-centre when TAC Instructor is hidden/off"

Various updates to that feature too in later versions.
