Dude, that is not the November issue...check again.

I saw that in this issue there is a new Call of Duty demo with a new map that is not available on-line. Does anyone know what map they are talking about? Is it the same map as in the leaked Demo2?

The call of duty demo is the same as the first one......just set at night instead.

Funny thing is...today I just got the November issue! What the hell!?

I was disappointed to find that LOMAC isn't even mentioned on the CD sleeve. There's a tiny mention of the CD contents in the magazine (and I do mean tiny) but other than that you wouldn't even know you had the demo unless you ran the CD.

I just got my December issue of Computer Gaming World and still no Lock On demo. :rolleyes: There was, however, a nice demo of, "Call of Duty." I ordered a copy of the "Lock On" demo on CD, first week of October. I don't have a cable modem or the time for a big download. I only had to pay shipping, about $4 US dollars.

I too, thought that UBI was going to heavily market their demo in all the Computer Gaming magazines. Where is the promotion of this Flight Sim? This may be a poor time for Flight Sims with all of the hot First Person Shooters coming out in the next two months.

PC Gamer has the LOMAC demo but you'd never know, as there is no promotion of it in the magazine nor any visible sign of it on the CD sleeve, which is devoted entirely to the CALL OF DUTY demo. The mag runs a euphoric review of CALL OF DUTY, plus equally enthusiastic editorials and their reward has been a gatefold COD ad. It's all a bit sleazy.

By the way, the COD demo is terrific, involving a defence against a German counterattack on a French village by an airborne unit during the D-Day landings.

In my opinion, however, the LOMAC demo is technically and aesthetically superior. It is certainly MUCH more replayable, even without the user mods. I have a hunch that the optimal system requirements for COD are lower than those for LOMAC, however. This demonstration of populist muscle versus specialist quality is all the more reason why we must stop complaining about LOMAC and vote with our dollars if we want there to be combat jet simulations for the PC in the future.
