Well done Germany, remember you have work tomorrow! cheers

That Farrow bloke you executed today, are you sure he's dead?
Well I chopped his head off, that usually does the trick.
Yes, don't get clever with me Baldrick. I just thought you might have lopped off a leg or something by mistake.
No, the thing I chopped off had a nose.

I dunno, that brunette with the pigtails wearing the dirndl on the German side was awesome - ESPN left her on screen for twenty seconds!

Too much wasted golden strikes by Argentinians, you just can't miss that many against Germany...

Congrats to Germany...

I was in Nuremberg during WC 1990 and it is still one of my best memories . .
After the win to go out in the streets as people poured out of their homes and the pubs to head to the old town square and celebrate the win. So much fun and I would love to be in Germany again right now, congrats to Germany!

Well said. I never thought I'd support Germany but today and this WC they certainly deserved it. 3 100% chances you can't miss, not in the final. I guess those two 120 min matches Argentine played previously took their toll...

THX boys,

fantastic performance. TBH, I only watched around half of the game. I was too near of a heart-attack. Really.

Great game Argentina, it could have been the other way round.

Weltmeister!

cheers

What a thrilling game!

Congrats to a fantastic German team that played some great, beautiful football during this tournament, fought hard and deservedly won in the end. 10 years of hard work finally got their reward. The 1st European team to ever win the Cup in South America!

Kudos to the Albiceleste, they kept the game open until the 113th minute and played a tactically excellent game.

Again: what a game!

Very intense game, good to watch even though there were few clear striking opportunities, Argentina sometimes apparently scared of Neuer (Higuain, Palacio) and Germany not precise enough in the final pass.

Very even for the most part, but in the extra time Argentina was more exhausted and resorted to long "Hail Mary" passes in the (not totally forlorn) hope that the forwards make something out of it, while Germany still tried to play it out.

And that Gtze scored the goal is no surpise either, it is somehow in his nature to be "choosen" for such a moment, he sometimes just has this "lucky momentum" working for him - but the way he scored also shows his talent and skills, great goal.

All in all, great tournament and a well deserved champion (if I may say so as a German)!
