I don't know which flavor of F4 you may be using, but from memory that sounds correct for the default view. If the version of F4 features a 6DOF cockpit, you can alter your view (move your TIR hat/mic sensor) by zooming in and out, or moving up and down to offset where the camera sees you and then press the center keystroke. You would need to do this every time you restart the sim, as there is no way to save an offset that I know of.

Just wondering if this is normal, whenever I center my Trackir in the cockpit, it seems like the default angle is wayy too high, as in the bottom of the screen starts at the ICP and the HUD is very low on my screen, and I can't see the MFDs at all without looking down. Is there a way to change this? Also seems like the view is pretty far back. Are you playing with multiple monitors? IIRC the default view (single monitor) should have the HUD at the center of your screen with the ICP in view and maybe the top 1/3rd of the MFD display in view as well, depending on your FOV.

I was using two monitors next to each other. From your suggestion, I disabled one of the monitors, to see if the view would revert to the viewpoint you described. Unfortunately, it did not work, and judging by the other replies its just how BMS is coded. Thanks for the help!

I agree! Or for BMS to have a "raise/lower chair" feature like DCS A10C. Thats a thing!?! That would fit in so well without breaking immersion

It is. Pilots have to adjust it for their physique so their head (eyes more precisely) is at a certain exact spot ("design eye" position). That's so they can see the HUD symbology, and there's a HUD test pattern that helps them do exactly that.
But anyway, I don't think any of that would help with OP's issue. As I understood it, he wants to have the center angled in a different direction, not positioned in a different point in space. The latter would probably cause you to not be able to see the full HUD symbology in BMS as well, depending on how far from design eye you moved (can't remember what effect the seat up/down has on the HUD in DCS). The former problem is one I also had when I used to fly with a TIR, the only solution I found was the one already mentioned, ie, look slightly up, center TIR and you're set. I rarely if ever had to recenter the TIR mid-flight.

LOL, yeah. Adjusting TrackIR to your preference is part of the pre-flight checks now.
