Luckily Rhode Island picked up the Blues when Cherry Point canceled early in the spring. They also scored the Raptor and Osprey demos.

First time seeing these boys

Would have been there with the in-laws if I didn't have to work that weekend, and I would've come back with photos I'd have been embarrassed to show next to yours.
Beautiful shots!
Was a good airshow the last time I attended and got to see the Raptor demo. Would love to have seen the Osprey for the first time.

Excellent shots, Dave! I love the Raptor shot with the vapor over the wing roots, and yeah, I'd only seen that little vapor tunnel into the intake on C-17s before too. That Heritage Flight shot really shows the difference in size between the Mustang and Raptor.

Thank you, the weekend wasn't looking good, I was down there Thursday and Fri for practices and the Raptor wouldn't even do his demo on Fri due to the low ceiling. Sat morning was pouring like crazy, but stopped by 7:15, by 11 the skies were blue. Totally lucked out.

Don't compare your stuff to mine, compare it to the last time you took shots. If you're getting better shots than that's all that matters. I shoot with a guy who owns the Nikon 200-400 F/4, a $7000 lens and he has a PRO body. I'll never get my shots as good as his, but I'm happy with how mine turned out.

Next year the Blues are back, shooting for Memorial Day, put in for some PTO now thumbsup

Thanks Ken, they had the Raptor warming up for 45 mins, some gauge was't reading properly so they kept waiting for it to get up to 90%, funny that it was only the left engine port that was getting that too.

The size difference is amazing.

Nice shots Dave, looks like you had some great skies and lighting!
Good seeing Jim Beasley getting his Mustang out to stretch her legs smile
I saw him flying is Mk18 Spitfire earlier this month, he'll usually fly both for the Atlantic City Airshow. He'll do the demo in the Spitfire, land and hop in Bald Eagle and do the demo and heritage flight in that.

Dave, if my fading memory serves me right, somewhere on my hard drive I think I may have photos from the 2007 airshow showing you and other photogs onboard a Blackhawk. Am I imagining that or not?

Whaddaya know. Then you might be one of the folks in this crop from a rather poor quality photo to begin with:

lol, I threw away so many blurry ones as it was. Have had a bad left shoulder for a while and holding the lens up for 3 days was just too much. Plus I've never had a steady hand... I can't shoot high shutter for props, but I don't have the steady hands for anything below 125 anymore..

Had surgery 3 weeks ago, torn rotator cuff and torn labrum and bone spur removed. Hopefully by next year I'll be able to get slower frown

If all goes well Tigercat #374 should finally be complete and in his stable some time this week.

This is what airframe #374 looked like in December 2013.
