I'm seeing posts on guys getting M1TP2 running on their W7 machines. Could you guys post here the install methods?
I have the "box" BestBuy version. I've tried different install methods, but I must be goofing something.Whether I install with/or without a compatibility mode, when I go to run the game I get a black screen, I can hear the intro's running. On alt+tab to desktop, there are no error windows, but the desktop is in 640x480 res. Running M1TP2.exe with/or without a compatibility mode doesn't seem to be providing a good or worse difference. I installed the nglide and the special M1TP2 nglide exe and I get the same black screen with audio only. I have also tried the official v1.2 patch.
Win8.1 just won't run it as you guys got Win7 to run it?
My pc: Win8.1Pro 64bit, Amd 965be cpu, 8gig ram, Asus hd5850 graphics card.

you all take care,

Land of the Morning Calm
I wish I could help you. I got it to run once in Windows7, but deleted it and decided to attempt a re-install and have had nothing but problems since. I wish you luck with an install on Windows 8. Given all the issues with installs on older Windows games on 8 and 8.1, I will most likely order my next laptop with Windows 7 again. It's been the most stable, sans older games.

If you read through the entire thread on getting it to run on windows 7, there is a step by step mentioned a few times. Also, in your signature, you state you run Windows XP on a dual boot, why not just install it under that partition?

Hi, thank you for posting,
I'll go ahead and run it on WinXP, just hoping to get it running ok to avoid rebooting. My Win8.1, and before the patch it was 8.0, was awful at cold-booting and re-starting. Often times on re-boot my usb keyboard and usb mouse would not function at the OS selection screen. Then, of course, the os selection timer winds down then Win8 boots the rest of the way.
When I am successful at booting to WinXP it is peace and tranquility so to speak.

Win7 purchase, I do have plans for that, then wipe Win8 to avoid Win8's awful OS selection system. What Win8 does is it boots near to desktop, but displays an OS selection screen just before the log in screen (MS clever way of claiming W8 boots faster). If WinXP is selected Win8 re-boots the pc to remove its HAL so that WinXP can boot. Will probably get WIn7Pro 64bit. Purchase will be down the road though, Have to save up more copper.
Now if dear precious GOG were to snare the rights for resale of M1TP2, I'd buy that in a heart beat, still with plans to purchase W7Pro64.
You all take care,
jimb

why bother mucking around with M1A2 TP, steel beasts has a fully functional M1A2 SEP.

SB comes in 3 variations.

"SB2" "SB pro PE" and "SB pro".
"public" "pub/mil" "military"
