so i found out the hard way that ebay car racing seats are not comfortable.

so im starting to find a design or a off the shelf product for a chair fit for car driving and flying planes.

a chair that i can sit in for many hours and feel comfortable.

sitting but it self is already bad for us, i want to avoid having a chair that will affect my health. (like having me slouch, reduce blood circulation, etc)

thank you for any advice! smile

Do you need just a chair or a whole cockpit with monitor frame?

Well I'll 2nd What Gene said.. there car seats are designed for hours of sitting.. I would fund a nice luxorious car that been wrecked and get a seat from a car..

Also if you would want some support for a regular PC chair I would suggest something like this:

It cost some coin, but I love my Playseat Flight. You can also center mount a yoke or wheel! biggrin

I use a game racer setup, they are a UK based sim seat manufacturer.

http://www.gameracer.co.uk/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=20

Bought the basic set up and changed it to suit me.

The foot panel can be mounted flat or tilted for car pedals and I chopped the centre mount to fit my stick.

But if it's just a seat you're after, grab a comfy luxury car seat like has been mentioned above. You'll get a better seat for less that way.

As someone who spends a lot of time in an office sat on office chairs, I'd rather be sat in a sumptuous car seat than an office chair.

everyones chairs look awesome.

that lazy boy looks really really comfy lol

Chivas, its great u have the stick before the lip of the couch.

unlike brigstock.. your stick is after the lip of the seat... which means u have to extend your arm straight, which would be fatigue after extend about of play... but the throttle and pedals are in a good position

I'm 6'2. The stick is mounted a little further forward for comfort. It also has a 15 degree offset, which makes it perfect.
If I extend my arm I touch the screen.
I've used centre mounted sticks for the last 5 years. This is the most comfortable set up so far.

I positioned the stick and grip to fit my hand by resting my forearm on my thigh and set the stick there. That is the perfect ergonomic position for me.

Any further back and I'd be restricting movement.

I have an early version of the playset (picked up in 2007) and the padding is pretty much shot now. But I could and will eventually replace the padding. I'd say its held up well for what its worth.

I've got a bad feeling about this.....
