Just checking out the X-Plane Simheaven photoscenery with the new World2Xplane OSM scenery... SkyMaxx Pro, MaxxFX, and RealTerraHaze, Carenado C340.

Just cruising round my usual stomping ground of north east Kent.

Wowowowowowowowowow.... me like.

Now considering I can get pretty much all of Europe covered with this scenery (HD space permitting duck ) and it's freeware...

Colour me very, very impressed.

Very cool. Especially the night shots. But, what's wrong with the water? It looks...flat?

That's how XP10 water looks - like a sheet of blue plastic frown

You get some wave action down low but not much... in XP10 the world's seas and oceans are a bit of a mill pond.

To be honest FSX is only slightly better, and P3D2's water is awful. The sim with the best looking water IMHO is DCS.

I'm not so happy with the neon horizons in the shots above either. I was using Real Terra Haze plugin, I might swap it out for something else. I'm kind of liking the more subtle effect that comes with the weather engine in EFASS.

One thing XP10 can't be beaten on is night flying. It simply looks amazing with it all in motion. The fully selectable and dimmable night lighting is also a big improvement over most FSX aircraft which have a simple on/off night lighting function.

Completely agree with this. The moodiness that X-Plane can manage with their night lighting is fantastic. A lot of these quality add-ons have excellent instrument panel lighting options that look fantastic. FSX lighting has always been very poorly done...

I agree that DCS (and to some extend Cliffs of Dover) have excellent water..

Any chance of a shot near Weymouth/Portland or Bath? Areas I am familiar enough with to judge it against previous Meh! attempts.

Thanks in advance. (I'd need to stump for XP10, and sufficient drive space to add it and sceneries...).

Also has XP flight feel improved? Many just felt too 'bouncy' before ~ I'm sure a model quality issue and one improved by careful selection of aircraft, but still...

LOL I'm quite familiar with Weymouth/Portland myself wink

I'm currently in the process of migrating my XP10 to a 3TB external USB3 drive, once that's done I'll get some shots around the area.

As for the feel of flight... much like MSFS, XP depends on the talent and time spent by the aircraft designer. Straight out of the box with the default control settings I think the aircraft are overly sensitive, but you can tone it down. Most of the XP10 addon aircraft I have fly really nicely. The only annoying thing is the torque bug.
