Just got my hands on this Game.
I have been a long time tank sim enthusiast but for some reason never got round to getting steel armour
It certainly has features I have long wished for in a Tank sim, its early days
Lot to learn, The patch was a tough install but a friend of mine helped me out with it
Graphically I think it good.
But for me it excels in atmosphere you really do get the impression your in a tank in combat.
The sounds are what they should be.
So far I am really glad I finally got around to getting it.
There a lot of user made tutorials available I will be making best use of them.
At its current price well worth checking it out.

Graviteam makes very good RTS and sims despite working on string budgets. They are very keen on details and historical accuracy. Not so good on selling/marketing themselves and their products well though....

This sim is rather hard to learn.
I am very interested if you have tutorial missions.
Please share them.

Thanks, marko1231123.

However, it seems the same as the tutorial here:
http://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3558505/%5BSABOW%5D_Quick_Start_for_Beginn#Post3558505
It is a great tutorial but very basic.

I hope somebody will make some other tutorials on tactics and how to play.
Since I find the enemy target is so small and hard to hit if it moves.

Hi tirta.
Engaging targets at long range is difficult in most MBT,s
If your trying it in the T-62 its even harder, Russian sights from that era were no ware near as effective as There western counterparts.
I also use steel beasts its pretty much the same thing if you engaging at long range unless you in the a modern
Western Tank and especially the M1A2 commanders position with its fifty time zoom commanders sight.
you can spot a fly taking a dump a mile away with that sight.LoL

Hi marko1231123,

You are correct, I have tried only t-62.
Thanks for pointing that out.
I guess I should try M60 now. biggrin

BTW, for shooting far moving target, how do you add lead?
do you have some rules?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on how SABOW stacks up to SB after you've spent some time with it.

And I have both...I'm just not very good at SB and I haven't spent much time with it. I pretty much suck at tanking.

Hi toonces.

Its really hard to answer your question my playing time on SABOW have been limited due to RL commitment's.
SB IMO is the better tank simulation. For a mired of reasons the biggest is MP. This is where SB excels, it has A Small but dedicated core of players I myself am a member of two VU's. some of the multi national events I have participated in have been to a very high standard both in planning stage and execution.
But does it have the same entertainment value As SABOW. The jury is still out on that one for me
Features like crew members abandoning there tanks, seeing the loader load the gun although many purist's
SB players will say its unnecessary for such additions and has no training value. Again IMO it has
It creates a very realistic atmosphere. when I get more time I would like to go in to more detail.

Edit,

toonces
I would recommend joining a VU if you want to improve in SB.
Before I joined one, I don't think I ever completed a mission.
The SB community is very open and patient to newbies. And you will be surprised how quickly you will improve.

Its just come out on Steam. I think the price is quite high (think it was available a lot cheaper before Steam) but it certainly looks good.

Great choice sir! thumbsup

Playing a Graviteam game is never wasted time because it is learning time.

Fairly technical, but very interesting. Some great learning experience ahead of you!
