Thanks Adger and Beanie. He would still be alive, or lived a little longer if he would have broke off and gone home when he had the chance! The hospital stays do not bother me, in sim or real life, Better than dying.

Clive Milton-Heath Mission 8 :May 10th 1917 07.31hrs

Today we had a special assignment from the C.O,Forward observers had reported that some DFW,Cs had been bombing our troops in the trenches. We took off into a cloudless blue haze,we had a lot of visibility and we climbed and proceeded to our destination. We could,nt miss the massive enemy craft and myself and Lieutenant "Jack" Scott decided to take one apiece..i hit him with numerous bullets and i was sure i got him,i had to break off however as i came within inches of hitting him.The German gunner opened fire as i dived down to the left and hit me in my right wrist. My wrist was broken i was in agony and i had to dive one handed low to the deck.I was still 12 miles from a friendly field and flying one handed i twice flipped the plane but managed to recover at the final minute.I eventually got to Etron field and landed.I had to be carried out of my kite i was overcome with exhaustion,i awoke later that evening back in hospital and was told i was going to be in for another 2 weeks. If i have 9 lives im slowly using them up.I arrived back to be told that i had,nt downed any craft..i left the C.O,s office feeling very dejected.....(Id Later heard that 2 of my squadron had been jumped and shot down by Jasta 11)They both managed to land near to British trenches and later made it Back

I'm glad it wasn't something more serious. The medics are wise to have you heal up that long, wrists are kind of important for flying! thumbsup

Adger, How appropriate with the "Nine Lives". If you spend much more time in hospital, the war will be over! biggrin
I guess the nurses are getting used to seeing you and that can't be such a bad thing!

Fyi, I died several pages ago. I couldn't get around to posting pics and gory details as I'm wrapping up a quarter of school, but I gave a brief synopsis of my short career , which ended with my becoming one with a tree.

Clive Milton-Heath Mission 9 :May 24th 1917 13.39hrs

This afternoon we were sent up for another Intercept patrol.Capt Lenny Coombs led the flight and we took off into a glorious sunny afternoon, after just getting over the german trenches Lenny started having engine problems and we saw him go down.He managed to land his kite in one piece but unfortunately he was on the German side of the barbed wire.I took over as flight leader and proceeded on course..I could,nt miss them they they were 6 big German DFW,s in a perfect V formation,i ordered the signal to attack and we hit them from underneath.I managed to bag one and also saw Reginald Langley (my wingman) and Lloyd Aston also get one i thought we had hit them hard enough when suddenly ping ping ping they hit my kite everywhere. How i wasn,t injured or even killed il never know but my fuel tank was riddled in holes.I was still over 6000ft up when my engine eventually gave up.I had no choice but to try and manage my airspeed and try to get down over friendly lines, has i descended i saw British troops in a nearby army base and i knew i was on my own side of the lines.I landed fairly smoothly and the only bump i felt was when i had to cross the nearby Railway lines (it was a good job nothing was coming).I climbed out my kite surveyed the damage and just sat there for Half an hr when i was picked up by a driver and 2 soldiers from the nearby base......

Ha! Picture #5 can sure leave you with a sinking feeling in your stomach, can't it? Great report, Adger, nothing sends fear down my back like a pack of two seaters, unless it's an over zealous wingman! Is that a custom skin, by the way? Is that why there's no red cowl?

I've completed 15 flights and my time to fly has been so limited over the past week. I hope to get up there tonight and over the weekend. Is today a hard end date?

Adger, I spent so much time in the hospital my wife wanted to know if I had a brunette nurse. She knows my weakness! I had to tell her she was a blonde, about 4'-5" and almost that tall!

Good point! According to post #1, we are shooting for a maximum of 19 missions by Sunday, June 16...end-of-the-world time. ...Mostly so all us dead people can start flying again in a new challenge yep So try to finish up in the next couple of days and get those reports in! Also, please post your score if you want it updated in the first post. Lastly, it would be cool if you could throw up a screenie of your pilot if you haven't done so yet so we could get a rough tally of the damage we did to our enemies. I suspect it is considerable!

We're getting close Gents. So how many brave flyers left in this affair?

I just completed my 16th mission and I'm still alive and well. No time to post reports unfortunately.

27 April, 1917:
Three of us are sent to escort a flight of four BE.2s on a bombing mission behind the lines. As we arrived over the target we got into a tussle with three Albatross scouts. We selected our targets and soon the fight had broken into three separate engagements. I do not know how the others fared, but my fight was a fairly long lived affair that brought me well north of where we had started. Finally, I was able to get a burst in and shred his wings pretty well. He broke off and began to climb away. I was coming around for another pass when I spotted three more Albatri approaching from the north well above me. I broke off and headed for the lines, but they soon overtook me in a dive. We swirled around for another few minutes and I shot one of them up fairly well, but had to break off without finishing him. I felt like I was getting the upper hand on the other two when I pulled a little too tight and whipped into an accelerated stall/spin. Though I had been careful up to this point to keep excessive g-forces to a minimum, the violence of the spin proved too much for my poor Nieuport. I heard a sickening cracking and tearing sound and my lower left wing departed the scene. The Nieuport flopped on her side and though I fought her all the way to the ground, I never regained control. The crash was fatal.

Missions: 10 - 10 points
Time survived: 4 weeks - 8 points
Confirmed kill: 10 - 30 points
Becoming an ace: yes - 5 points
Promotion: none - 0 points
Medals: 1 - 3 points

Total: 56 points

Among my victories were two aces: Carl Menckhoff - 39 victories, and Ludwig Luer - 6 victories.

Well done and good luck to Shiloh and Adger and all the others lucky enough to still be alive!

Well done gecko. You had quite a high number of kills for hours flown and have served the crown well. Carl M. is the 'real deal' and everyone will be safer on our side without that German threat to contend with.
