Murdered: Soul Suspect
So what do you all think about this upcoming game? I'm slightly aware of this game and I've only briefly read anything on it. I didn't realize it was so close to release. I'm interested but I think I'll wait for some reviews first.
I need to start being more picky and frugal with my gaming choices and expenditures. I have to say this past year or so I've wasted too much money on only so so games. Is anyone else starting to get annoyed at all of the preview based accolades being tacked onto unreleased games only to have said games turning out to be just mediocre at best regardless of all the praise and promotion behind their release?
For example, Infamous Second Son. I never really played much of the first ones but this feels just like a prettier re-skinned version of those and not nearly as how I thought it was going to be for a next-gen console release. Another is WatchDogs. Now I haven't spent a whole lot of time with this one and though I'm enjoying it, and much more so than GTAV and Second Son, it still hasn't grabbed me as much as I felt it was going to based on all the previous promotion and delays. Like I said, I'm enjoying it but there's not a whole lot lately really grabbing my attention. And it disappoints me. I know it will take some time for the next-gen gaming market and quality and title library to get better but as I said before, most titles have been just okay. Not great. I'd have to say(and I know some will disagree), that MGSV Ground Zeroes to me has been the closest taste visually and gameplay-wise of what potential lies in this next-generation of gaming.
But I'm starting to feel that these pre-release accolades, that I'm sure are used whenever they can be to promote potential sales of the soon-to-be-released game, are cheapening their purpose especially when most serious gamers overall are not impressed thus far. These game compliments need to be used sparingly and not overly used or abused because the trend as I see it is that they are starting to not mean a damn thing anymore.
