ps wish ALL space sims didn't have to show shooting stars flying by to give impression of speed. It's really hoaky.

iWar had them but they were computer simulated lines to give the user a sense of flight as opposed to physical objects outside the canopy.

Pretty damn good for something you just 'mashed together' makes me wanna play.

What happens after you have to eject/die? Does this game use the insurance type thing and you have to re-set up your ship, or do you respawn at the station?

So far only partial game-mechanics about death have been included...
As of now, the best moment to die is when flying the initial ship.

Literally no cons, except the death counter in your mind goes +1.
On the other hand if you had a outfitted ship, you can pay a fraction of its cost and get it again, without any weapons.

The old proverb of "Don't buy anything that you can't afford to lose" is still pretty much valid.
In the next iterations the insurance will cover the COMPLETE ship minus the cargo containers.

And yes, you respawn at the last station you docked at.

Actually, the insurance covers all installed weapons and equipment.
