Jus got Watch Dogs and started playing on PS4. Feels like this game may be very overated. As soon as I had to drive in the game I was pretty much disgusted by how horrible the cars are to control and not fun. Maybe I am just being overly critical over one aspect of the game but I lost interest after a couple of driving segments.

A LOT of people agree with you about the driving. Honestly, you'd have to be pretty desperate and not very fond of driving cars to find it enjoyable. I think a majority of reviews I've read have pointed it out.

I'd say it's a big problem in a game like this, where you have to drive all the time.

Wait until you try a bike, they are also pretty bad.

Its 'different' to GTA, doesn't make it wrong. You have to learn a different style perhaps? I've already put more time into this than GTA V and its shanky SP.

I am going to try again tonight and give it a chance...but the driving experience just killed it for me last night.

I decided to open up all the areas as fast as I could. Once you hack the CtOS towers you get access to different hideouts around the map and you can fast travel between them. You can't do it when on missions, but when just getting from place to place that has become my preferred mode of travel as it cuts out a lot of the wonky driving.

That's a good headsup for me. I tried that GTA with the russian guys and the driving made me sick.

What can or need I do to get more "in" to this game? I tried doing some more story specific missions yesterday. Does it open up? Do I need to give it more time. Its not bad but boy its not great and its loosing any allure it had with me and this doesn't look or feel anything like they've been promoting these last couple of years.

Same with Second Son. I've got this open world to play on in a next gen PS4 game but so far it feels like they are failing at gameplay and making it entertaining and creating purposeful, non-grind activities to enjoy.

I guess a game either grabs you or it doesn't, you'll never enjoy it if you have to force yourself. For me it has sucked me in and I have just started watching Person of Interest and Watch Dogs is pretty much PoI the series lol as they took a lot of inspiration from it and that is fueling my interest too.

Sounds like it's not your thing, Infamous wasn't mine as it feels so empty.

All I've heard so far is that "it's really repetitive."

So like many, many others I'm now also dealing with Ubisoft's rubbish servers. There's threads on the official Playstation forums, reddit and other major forums where people are having issues. I keep getting a NAT error when trying to do any sort of multiplayer ... Which is funny, as I'm on a modem with route functionality turned off which means no NAT at all. I'm behind nothing, straight out onto the internet.

I was able to play MP on launch day but it hasn't worked since. The only decent thing about the game I can't even use.

God damn this game is going to go down as a major turd in my book.

My recommendation will be to skip this game or just rent on gamefly or something. At least infamous 2 I enjoyed the powers and definitely was motivated to unlock new stuff and beat the game.

watchdogs is the same thing over and over with horrible horrible driving to get from point a to b.

reminds me of this note in assasins creed where the fictitious ceo explains they wont do an assasin creed game in modern sertimg because driving around would suck...maybe assasin creed team already played watch dogs and is warning us to stay away.

I'm having no problems with Ubi servers on PS4, played loads of Free Roam and invasions last night. Are you on PC with the problems Sethos?

I am really not seeing any problems with the driving at though and thoroughly enjoying the game. Horses for courses i guess smile

The repetitive nature definitely comes from Ubisoft's lack of passion to make good games. They always make 5-10 crappy minigames as sidemissions and then just copy + paste them 15 times over. Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed and now Watch_Dogs suffer from this repetitive crap.

Lots of Ubisoft games suffer from development problem because they just have studios all over the place that works on one game, lots of managers and leaders that don't communicate and ultimately games that suffer. Remember an AC3 developer once spoke out on a forum on how problematic that game was which kinda showed in the final product.

Also saw this the other day;

But there's no point in say it works for you, because this is a sporadic problem that a lot of people are experiencing across all platforms. PC users have sort-of found a solution which isn't relevant for console users.

Well, there is a point as I haven't had any issues... There's no point in complaining it happens then in that case.

Maybe I like Ubi games (as I love AC games and FC) or maybe I just play a game and enjoy it instead of looking for every little problem. If it's not that, then this is wrong, if that's not wrong then this is wrong etc.... I only every know about these things from forums.

Wait, so because you haven't had the problem but there's threads on it on almost every major gaming forums or at least, a heap of people with those exact problems or other Uplay / connection related problems, we aren't allowed to mention it?

I had no idea about any connection problems! I'm not connected to the matrix.

It's funny that GTA V has problems and people make videos saying how crazy and funny it is yet same happens to WD and people make videos saying it's the worse thing in the world. If it wasn't this to complain about it would be something else...

Ok, I need to buy Watch Dogs now.

Glenn Beck is ranting about how horrible it is, it corrupts children, teaches them to hack and break the law.
