No video for this mission. Something went wrong and the vid capture was not recorded. Too bad as it was a worthy mission and one I would like to have had video for.

Provide Top Cover Close Air Support for 2 FE2b's from RFC-25 out of Auchel / Lozinghem who have a mission to observe enemy troops movement East of Loos. This mission was a disaster with only two of the five Nieups making it back to base and two losses of life. Charles was wounded in the left shoulder and forced down just inside allied lines by three DIII's triple teaming him. "A" flight who were also in the area lost three men. This was the dastardly work of Jasta 11. Charles spent 11 days in hospital and will be back in action April 25th.

As you land, your mechanic notices that the blip switch on your Nieuport seems to be broken and gets to work right away on a fix. Your new squadmates secretly wonder if he will also wash the unsightly blue graffiti off the bottom of the upper left wing. winkngrin (sorry, couldn't resist, heh heh)

Sign me up. This time I plan to stay quite clear of my horse-blinder wearing wingmen.

Dear Mother,
I have arrived here at my squadron. All is well. My fellow pilots seem like a good bunch of chaps. One of them must be pretty good as he has his plane painted in the most beautiful manner. We are to have a few days of practice before getting down to business. We are told we will fly our first real mission on Saturday. Don't worry about me, I will be fine. Give my love to all.

Your Son,
Rafe

This is also where I will give my standard "try lowering your joystick sensitivity settings in the workshops" advice. It really helped me with the whole wing issue. Also, check out this video :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUT41bXgOZo
It's using a N23 instead of the 17, but you can still get a sense of what they can do.

I had a look for a sensitivity adjustment but had no luck finding it. I'll probably kick myself when I see it, but can you point me the spot this resides in the workshops Rick? Seems like a useful setting to play with. Thanks!

I'm on my kindle right now so I can't say for sure. It's something like you click on one of the joystick settings and it opens up some new options that weren't there before. Maybe someone else can explain or screenshot it before I get home, otherwise I'll post a better description when I can...

Well, so far in two campaign test flights I've died twice. The second time I took half of my flight with me.

Oh well. You only die once. I'm in!

Nice! You'll fit in well! We tend to live fast and die fast, but everyone is in the same boat...watch everyone else's videos, check out their screenshots, read their reports and you should find your flying improving a lot! I always learn a bunch from these!

I got bored with flying so volunteered to help plow the fields.

Strangely, "I" would have survived this little adventure and visited the hospital for four days.

There you go: Re Map Keys/Controllers, Axis X (for example), Advanced. Try dropping down the scale a bit and see if that helps. Increasing the null zone a pinch can also help with accuracy in shooting.

Consider my interest and intent declared! I predict my fate will involve ripping my wings off. I've not had much luck in the Nieuports, but I shall do my best for king and country!
