I actually did reinstall last night and seemed the same to me. Worse in some cases; the 'highways' now have some sort of drift inside them that you can't stay in! I tried using thrust but just get ejected seconds later! So they took out the frogger mini game and replaced with this? Who's bright idea was that?!
Well the positive is that I can actually try to play the game now as they have finally fixed the controls so a HOTAS and pedals will be properly recognised and can be configured. With the highway thing I don't know what it was like before because I couldn't get more than 30 secs into the game but for me now as long as I have a destination locked I can enter the highway and it will take me to where I asked to go to. If it had released looking like this it might have gone ok simply due to the avoidance of the overwhelming negative press but as it is I will have to play it awhile before I figure out whether I will persist. Mind you Elite is just around the corner so I might easily get side tracked as I bought the premium beta the other day even though the price nearly crushed me at about $190 AUD. Hope it turns out as good as it seems it should.
