So in my first attempts to achieve orbit without any research or training I accidentally caused one poor pilot to achieve exit velocity. With no fuel remaining and no hope of future rescue I wonder if I should tell him. He was very brave but not very smart. Maybe he doesn't even realize the trouble he's in. Good bye brave sir. I hope your last days aren't to bad.

Ok, load the next capsule.

Stranded kerbals make for great missions. You should try to rescue him, even if he is just flying there... double the fun.

It looks like he is on an exit trajectory. If he actually stops I will try an go get him but I think he will just keep going. Maybe in 200 years he will return named vyger.

No kerbal is unrecoverable... just need a bigger ship with bigger engines and more fuel!

I think by the time my research catches up to the rescue mission I will be mounting warp engines. My poor program hasn't even orbited the planet yet.

I am not sure how you managed an escape orbit without ever doing an actual orbit. Thats a lot of engine for the starting gear.

Not when you daisy-chain them like a psycho. Three of the level 2 solid boosters plus 1 of the level one boosters. A little creativity in the way they are staged and a very bad directional choice. It appears I am gifted when it comes to poor planning.

Could also be the Kraken. If your guy is traveling at a phenomenal speed looking like his going out of the solar system, then you just had your first encounter with The Kraken got him and there's no way to reclaim him.

If he is just leaving Kerbin's orbit, then he will enter an orbit around the sun at a slightly diffrent orbit than Kerbin itself, and since they don't die, you have all the time in the world to develop the appropriate technology and skills.
