I found this game on Steam, still very much pre-alpha but has a lot of great potential. Finally a golf game coming back to PC, where you can make your own courses, and where EA Sports ain't there to ruin it. wink

I loved the personal commentary, it felt like he was watching and talking with just me, even referring to past shots or screw ups.

I'm not a golf fan but anything that's no EA and is moddable on PC is a good thing in my book. The only thing that's missing is the polite claps after each hit wink

Is there giggling and groaning when you hit a bad shot? That's what I would be getting a lot of.

I think they tried to screw with this already. The developers were supposed to develop Tiger Woods 15 before it was cancelled by EA.

I've had my eye on this one.

At my previous house I had a permanent 4 PC LAN set-up,and we had a golf game (can't remember it now but probably EA) that we played most Sat nights.3 of us were quick players but Warren would take ages to play his shots.Usually it would end up with the 3 of us shouting 'just hit the f*****g ball'!

SHar82,that was the one that got me into golf games at that time.

It looks like an updated version of the old Links series of golf games, the last of which was released in 2002-2003. This does look very promising.

I actually like the TW games quite a bit though. TW 14 is terrific but its a shame EA has t done a PC version since about 07-08.

The course looks good. The player model needs work (terrible posture, back too hunched over) but theres time to fix that.

Oh I do too, have TW 13 for 360... but up until a week ago every year is a 60 dollar price tag plus at least 12 more courses released for 5 to 8 bucks each... so every year to keep up with EA's golf game cost you over 100 bucks... this looks to be, like you said, a throwback to the LINKS for PC days.

Putting leaves something to be desired. Maybe it is my mouse but I can't seem to get the putter to go back where I want it to. It would be nice if the game could be played in something other than DX11 mode. I can't play the thing on my laptop. The graphics are nice but not THAT great. They may want to make a version that can be played on systems without a top tier video card. I can see a lot of users skipping out on the game. It is an alpha though so it may have some support in DX9 or 10.

It makes me wish for the old three click method. I still prefer it in my golf games. I actually have Links LS 2003 and TW 2007 still on my laptop.

Looks good.

I bought a couple of the Tiger Woods games on console some years back. They were quite playable, but I just could not stand the "level up" player stats where my character was constantly hitting the ball farther and farther.
