ever try to switch to a baseball game in between hockey commercials or periods.... I can't do it, I'd rather watch a TV series than watch baseball..

I have neighbors who a big BB fans, Dad's a coach who's really good, taught my oldest back when he played. His oldest is in Freshman in HS and they just got BB for them at our HS. They were playing catch as you enter the neighborhood and the ball got by them so I jumped out of my car to grab it and toss it back.

Dad said, "I thought you hate baseball".

My reply was, "I don't hate it, just glad my sons don't play it"...

I can't tell you how happy I am my kids switched to Lacrosse!

Baseball is a game to be played with friends, not watched.

I would rather watch paint dry than a baseball game.

I'll "watch" it in the background while working on something. It's even better on the radio. But as a baseball fan I find it difficult to actually sit contently and watch a game on TV while doing nothing else.

It's even worse now for baseball since it seems the collective attention span is even less than it used to be. At the last 2 baseball games I attended, I was astounded by the number of people in the stands with their heads buried in their tablets and smartphones. They weren't even paying attention to the game.

I never was a Hockey or Basketball fan, in fact you would have to pay me to watch an NBA game. I like College Football, but I have been losing interest in the NFL. The only sport I really love is Baseball, there is something special about it, a magic, that other sports just don't have. However it is a sport that I think can be difficult for a casual fan, and you do need to be knowledgeable about it to get the most from watching an MLB game. Also due to its in-depth strategy and the non-use of a game clock, I think those who are more hyper-active or have short attention spans may not enjoy the sport as much. Playing wise it is a very difficult game to master, in fact, difficult to even be competent in, and I have noticed that those who do not like it tend to have had bad experiences in their youth trying to play the game. When I was boy, the greatest insult was for someone to be told you throw a baseball like a girl (couldn't say that now days with the growth of womens softball). Overall it is the greatest sport I have come in contact with.
