I initially stayed away because it's by the same people who did that rip off Miner Wars but it seems to be taking off and a number of SimHQers have it. Any good?

i think it pretty damn good ... Mp is quite a blast ... literally just ask fudge about trying to steal a military mine layer ...

Dont think of it as being vastly outnumbered ... but just having a large target selection.

fudges explosive nature aside ... space engineers is very different and fun ... I had a minor oops.. using my small ship to move a larger one (closer to my station to cut up for parts) and didn't account for the nature of space .. and the fact I had no way of stopping this thing once i got it moving ... and watched unhappily as it crashed into my budding space station

duh

we give it a go ... but play is a strong word (try not to kill ourselves or blow up what we have just built is more accurate) if you can imagine NASA with no health and safety regulations

biggrin

Do you control the ships yet or is it just building? Combat or exploration missions?
I was disappointed they abandoned Miner Wars before it was finished, but at least they're offering those that got MW the chance to get it free.

yes you can control any ships and there are weapons in the game, there is a survival mp and single mode where you get randomly hit by asteroid showers

Well, I can't speak for all of them, but the one met was a real jerk. Our robot introduced himself and then the jerk went all batsh!t and ripped off robot'head. And then he just walked off ignoring us. But then we found out he had a flightplan to earth, so we figured he was up to no good so we got the other guys to crash into him. Yea,he was pissed by that time! Then a giant toothy monster ate him. The end. 'Till we can find an excuse to go visit his cousins.

Yes, but the robot was very good looking, so you can't really blame him.
