I never thought I would ever see such beautiful water in a CFS3-based sim.

WOFF is great, but AnKor's mod raises the visuals beyond anything I would have imagined possible in this old engine. To say "Well done!" does not even come close to the kudos that should be sent your way. You deserve a medal Sir.

Many, many thanks.

Lou

I agree RAF. I encourage any who enjoy using his work and who are able to afford it to please donate to AnKor. His work only increases the already substantial immersion of WOFF.

Absolutely! Where do I send the money AnKor? I will gladly give to support such outstanding work.

I often daydream the same:
if I was a millionaire, I would buy the CFS3 data from Microsoft, and AnKor's Shader mod, and give them to OBD.
We are visual beings, and so it is a great, wonderful enhancement of my/our beloved sim!

Lou, you find a "Donate" button in AnKor's first post in the "Shader-Thread" here.
I have used it already with success.

I recently started using AnKor's mod and I'm amazed at what he's accomplished. It not only makes the game look better, and more alive, but it has also helped my framerates a bit even with the extra shadows.

Great job, AnKor!

I suggest everyone give it a try. I think it's just fine as-is and doesn't need SweetFX at all.

That's a great picture Lou, and really shows the brilliance of Ankor's mod.

77_Scout, I'm glad it's showing the brilliance of AnKor's mod. However, this really does need to be experienced firsthand. Also, as Nefaro noted, it works fine without SweetFX and that is what my screenshot is showing. As per Hellshade's suggestion and Olham's guidance, I have sent my appreciation in the form of a donation. I hope it helps you out with further development AnKor and many thanks again.

Cheers!

Lou

Thanks Louvert!

In fact I'm not yet satisfied with the look of the water and hope to improve it further someday smile

Nefaro, my PC is rather old so getting an improved graphics AND frame rate is my goal smile

Olham,
with enough effort it is possible to do miracles even without having access to the source code. I've seen projects succeeding in this. The problem is that the required effort is currently beyond my abilities. I've spent quite a few hours digging inside cfs3.exe trying to find a way to control some aspects of the render, but such "hacking" is not my strongest skill.
CFS3 was around for more that ten years and only now we see how WOFF devs really pushed it beyond original limits. For Skyrim it took about a month for mods adding extended features and boosting FPS to appear. That's the power of community with millions people.

IMO, you can get the most out of Ankor's wonderful mod by flying close to the North Sea. I have an RNAS pilot there and I just love the view over the sea! smile

So...we need to get the Devs to create WOFF II using the Skyrim engine! I'd like to see the screenshot of Olham battling a fire breathing Dragon in his Albatross. biggrin

Well, I don't ALWAYS fly Albatros in combat.
I have just spent some time in BORDERLANDS 2, shooting up many mech-warriors with my
shock-sniper-gun, my "slag" shotgun and a rocket thrower.
The advantage there is, that I have a "fire spike shield", which makes opponents burn,
when they attack me physically - a feature I'd like for my Albatros.
Or the combat dresses they have...! biggrin

I don't seem to have any sea or water anywhere. The whole English Channel and North sea is covered in scrubland with small trees. Any ideas why this is?

Hmm... This is something new.

Just in case, do you use any tweaks in shaders.xml, ConfigOverrides.xml, or some other non-standard game settings?
Also, what GPU do you have?

The code for the new water is relatively simple, I'm not sure what can go wrong there.

No, no tweaks but the new map .dds as seen on this forum. GPU is an ASUS HD 7750 and cpu is AMD 965 o/c to 4Ghz.
The shader patch is definitely working as I can see shadows and my FPS rate is now up to 50+ instead of around 30-35 before.

I also have Hellshades screenshots and the WOFF news mod installed.

Jim if you are using JSGME for your mods, try de-activating all mods and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then add the mods back one by one until you find the culprit if there is one. If this doesn't work I would suggest a full re-install but before doing that please download my backup and restore utility from the official WOFF web site mods section and take a backup so you can restore all your precious pilots and active files.

Best Regards;
