Yes Robert, I use your backup/restore utility all the time. This looks like being the second time I have to reinstall WOFF.

Jim; This is really confusing to me!! If you do a full install, take the time to install only one mod and then test the sim. If that works, move to the next mod and so on. If all mods work, then the problem is outside of the WOFF environment. At this point I am lost. If it does recur, immediately send all logs to support and do not fly any other missions until support identifies if they need any other files.

That's all I can think of to tell you at this point.

AnKor's mod has turned 2 dimensional imagery into three Dimensional...As any Art student will know, the way to turn 2d into 3d..is Shadowing..and AnKor has nailed it completely.

carrick58,
it should work perfectly with 5700. The minimum requirement for AMD is 4000 series.

JimAttrill,
I still have no idea how to help you frown
Do you have the original CFS3 or maybe OFF Phase 3 installed? If you do you can try my mod with those games to see if it is any different.
I actually recall one mention of similarly missing water on sim-outhouse forum where people use my mod with CFS3, but I believe that was just the case of previously tweaked shaders.xml and was cured by restoring the original one.
Could it be that your copy of CFS3 had some tweaks you don't know about?

I am now getting really confused. It took about 4 tries to get the WOFF install to work correctly. Sometimes it would just stop in the middle for some reason. Then I got it installed and it seemed to have lost its config.xml file which gave lots of error messages. I did the install again (again,again...) and it is just fine.

Installed JSGME in the WOFF folder, along with the MODS folder and added in the Shaders30 folder which contains a .ps file, two .fx files and a .vs file.

The files d3d8.dll and d3d8.ini files are in the MODS folder, not the Shaders30 folder. The other file there is jsgme.ini

Anyway, I enabled the Shaders30 mod and it doesn't work. The good thing is that I do have water of a sort not trees as before. Have reinstalled the DirectX 9 and it makes no difference.

Jim;

Please carefully read through the following thread and compare the directory structure to what you have. I could be wrong but I think you have something wrong in your directory/file structure. Look forward to hearing back from you.

You don't enable "shaders 30" thats a folder. Just unzip AnKor's mod to a temporary folder on your desktop, then open the folder then select all files and folder inside. Right click, Copy. Now go browse to OBDSoftware folder (default is on C: drive) open it,
open WOFF folder
open OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields folder.

Right click somewhere in that folder (not on another folder), Paste.

But that doesn't use JSGME it seems. I am beginning to think this JSGME just complicates the issue. All I want is installation instructions that work and I am getting different advice all the time.

I tried your instructions and now WOFF crashes. I have looked at the log files and they do not help. As I am sick to death of installing WOFF over and over again I will leave it alone for now.

Ankor's mod is so simple to install/uninstall :

1. Unzip anywhere you like
2. Copy the "shaders30" folder and the two files d3d8.dll / d3d8.ini inside the "OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields" folder of your WOFF installation, wherever it is.
3. You can deactivate/activate it "on the fly" with KP0
4. If you want to uninstall, you only need to delete the "shaders30" folder and the two files above.

Never had a crash.

PS: Did the same install in OFF replacing by "CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields" folder and it works there as well. No crash either ...

Corsaire31;

You are correct that Ankor's mod is very simple to add and to remove but the reason I suggest all mods use JSGME is that you don't have to remember what files to install and what to remove. This becomes more important when you start to use many other mods. I don't know about you but I have trouble remembering all the files locations for all the mods that have been released. JSGME manages all this for you.

It is, however a mute point, if mod developers don't create JSGME ready mods and don't use the "WOFF JSGME Mod Builder Installer Kit" that is up on the official WOFF web site at the following location:

WOFF JSGME Mod Builder Installer Kit"

This utility makes sure all mods are generated conforming to WOFF and makes the mods into an exec self installer for user simplicity.

I have been using JSGME since it was created for Silent Hunter III (must be over ten years) and I usually manage most of my mods with it in all kinds of games when there are several that need to be installed in a specific order for overwriting matters (like in RoF for instance where I have 23 mods installed) - except games which have a specific Mod Manager.

I made an exception for Ankor's mod because it was so simple to do it manually and I don't plan on removing it. When a new version comes out, I replace the old files by the new ones.

This is a beautiful mod AnKor and thanks for all your hard work! I did have an issue with artifacts on the propeller when firing through it. It became quite distracting and as soon as I uninstalled the problem went away. I tried a reinstall and checked off the box that said something like "no effects in the cockpit" but I still came up with the same issue. I'm not sure sure if this has popped up before but maybe it's something with my rig.

Couple more questions from the dumb guy and I promise not to bother you any more (at least for a week or so.....)

I have been using Ankors shadows mod successfully from the version released about Mar 26 (?) or so. This was added manually without issue.

Which version has the water texture mod in it, or is that one a separate mod? Is it manual load or JSGME loaded?

Also, slightly related, the Aris cloud mod, is that JSGME ready also?

You're right, I can't walk and chew gum at the same time....

Aroth;

I believe both those mods were release as non-JSGME. But I have them as JSGME because I readied them myself.
The latest version of ANKOR's mod has the water texture in it. That was released 2014-03-25.

Hope that helps
