Sounds painful. Was afraid to look at the "Donki" section. exitstageleft

Maid cafes are kinda old hat there. I did get a laugh out of one of the brothels (pink salons) there that catered to the video game and anime nerds that congregate in Akihabara. The girls would do the coplay thing as dress as famous characters from games and cartoons and either watch cartoons or play console games with their clients before or in lieu of doing the deed.

maid cafes are an interesting experience if you like anime/manga. if you can't speak japanese it's kind of a waste of time, most of the girls can't speak english. usually the girls are just university students who are working there part time.

i used to date a maid and she said the kind of customers that came were usually gross, smelly geeks.

donki is the name of 24hour discount store (don quijote). lots of them all around japan, they have good prices on goods of varying levels of quality, as well as legitimate brand goods that have been parallel imported.

My 18 year old son and I agree that it would be a cool place to check out on an afternoon, but we'd probably have a hard time not laughing.

Cute Japanese cosplay girls fishing for drinks (no doubt, I'd expect a six dollar small glass of orange juice for her)and cookies.

We also agree that my wife would roll her eyes and call us perverts and pigs.

I'd have to deal with a level of disapproval over the event that would span decades, but it would be totally worth the occasionally dragged up smart remark.

The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events.
