The Apache is a truly awesome weapons system.

Wonder how many hours some of those older birds have on them now?

Are we still building them?

Yes, they are still in production.

I saw a documentary a couple of months ago about it.

Amazing how they get the foam armor and rubber fuel tanks into the fuselage.

What's in the box? C'mon, what's in the boooox?

I've been waiting for DCS AH-64 since right after BlackShark. I've already vowed to give up FSX if it was released.

i'd be satisfied with a non D version of the apache for DCS. wish they'd hurry up and do it but i think the difficulty is in the two-seat operation.

The difficulty is they want to do things to 95% and the documentation may only allow 85%...so they defer, delay, or don't do it. frown

This is what I've heard also, still a lot of classified stuff not released.

Still, even a non-clickable 'pit with an Advanced Flight Model would be good for me

And me as well! Given what EEAH/CH let you do in the Apache 15 years ago I was happy, even though I preferred Jane's LB from almost 20 years ago.

They could easily do one that worked to that fidelity today and I'd be thrilled!

Yep, me too.

But the hardcore mafia wouldn't like that.

We need more of what IIRC the Hawk team are doing...start medium, then build on that and sell for more to the hardcore crowd. Those who are fine with FC-level modeling don't have to wait and hope there's a working "easy" mode, and the likelihood of it coming out are greater than relying on funding lasting till the hardcore one comes out.
