Yay,

got my new Z4 yesterday. Well, it`s not new, 3 years old, 66k km, but in mint condition. Also got a new gearbox 20k km ago.

It`s a 35i, 306 hp with a automatic double clutch gear box. You can drive it in automatic mode, or you can shift manually with the paddles.

Haven`t taken any pics from the interior yet, but it looks like this, it`s called "Design Pure white" and is a mix of leather an Alcantara. I have the M steering wheel though, which is all black an has a thicker rim.

Very nice! Looks like fun! 306HP in a small vehicle like that should really get you moving.

Beautiful! I'd love to have one of those. I prefer the coupe to the convertibles too.

@ Raw Kryptonite:

This IS a convertible, the newer E89 series has a hardtop though, unlike my old E85 Z4, which had a softtop. It`s stunning to watch the roof folding, the trunk however is almost useless compared to my old Z4 though.

In this thread is a similar looking car, it`s a 23i though, the big ones have one exhaust left and right.

@ Jedimaster: don`t know, I studied the history of the car with the dealer, it says the gearbox made noises, so it was replaced by BMW at no cost. I researched in the net and this seems to be not a common fault. So I`m just happy to have a newer gearbox and hope for the best.

@ all: THX guys, it`s great to drive, great sound too. However, IMO this is no roadster anymore, more a GT. Coming from a 2001 Mazda MX-5 over the old Z4 to this one, the cars weighted always more (like the driver, lol). My car is around 1,600 kg empty, while the Mazda was around 1,150 kg. The additional weight shows definately in the corners. The acceleration is insane though and my drivers-license in constant danger

biggrin

not a fan of the clown shoe. I preferred the look of the Z3.

Nice car! That one is fun to drive in Assetto Corsa.

The gearbox made noises... I hear that alot, working at a Ford dealership. Not many understand these new transmissions. I have grown to love dual clutch gearboxes. The newer Ford Focus has one, and it is so much better than a traditional automatic. Very crisp. Really almost as good as a manual if you have the select-shift version. Unfortunately, people who don't care about shifting themselves don't like that it feels different. Some people think it's broken because they hear noises that weren't present in their old automatic car. Or, they think it's poorly built because the shifts feel more mechanical and less smooth and gooey.
