there are utilities that allow you to run a custom resolution higher than your screens.
So I can run the tool, and say I want to run 7680x4320, and it will inject that resolution, I can then select that option in the game options, and it will render at that resolution and use the driver to scale down to my native res.
however when I press the screenshot button, I will save the screenshot in the original 7680x4320 resolution.
